Owyhee Damโs ring gate spillway acts like a bathtub drain that lowers the reservoir if rain or snowmelt fills it. Check out this video ๐น of water flowing over the spillway, dropping more than 300 feet into a tunnel, and exiting downstream to the Owyhee River.
East Park Dam and Reservoir is located in Northern California. Completed in 1910, the dam and reservoir are part of the Orland Project, Reclamationโs oldest and smallest water delivery project construction in California.

Future leaders from The U.S. Naval War College International Program dove deep into the engineering marvels of the Hoover Dam. The tour provided an educational look into the dynamics of a hydroelectric power plant and the intricate operations of the large commercial generators.
In Fremont County, Wyoming the Bull Lake Dam spillway project aims to rectify existing challenges and ensure the damโs safety. Progress of this project is well underway, keep checking back for updates! Recreational access to Bull Lake Reservoir will remain unaffected.

Jackson Lake Dam was originally built as a temporary rock-filled crib damโconstructed to store water for the Minidoka Project. Today, it's a concrete gravity structure with earth embankment wings holding total water storage capacity of 847,000 acre-feet.

Bartlett Dam was the first dam built on the Verde River in AZ, It stands 308.5 ft. high, 800 ft. long and consists of 10 arches, 9 buttresses, and 2 gravity wing dams. its provides flood control and irrigation water for the Salt River Valley & Indian Reservation.

Our Asset Management Division funded inspections of pipe installations to prevent failures that took 5 years and covered 21 miles of pipes. They are working to manage the risk of sudden pipe failure by conducting assessments and planning for repairs.
Reclamation joined the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona to share information regarding Colorado River Basin hydrology, operations, and funding opportunities. We thank the Council for their leadership bringing together Colorado River Tribes to advance their causes.
Through cooperative agreements with the New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Reclamation will work with Rio Grande Project stakeholders to develop supplemental water projects.
