In Estes Park, CO, the 70-ft-high Olympus Dam sits on the Big Thompson River, creating Lake Estes. Some water exits the lake through the gates and enters the Big Thompson River below. Most water enters the Olympus Siphon, eventually flowing to Carter Lake & Horsetooth Reservoirs.

Senior Advisor Roque Sanchez recently met with officials from the Buckeye Water Conservation and Drainage District. The District is working with Reclamation's Phoenix Area Office as they prepare to embark on a canal modernization and energy project.
Davis Dam is about 10 miles north of the point where Arizona, Nevada, and California meet. Davis Dam generates electric power for Arizona, California and Nevada and the Davis powerplant, generates more than 1,000,000,000 kilowatt-hours a year.

Reclamation, Wyoming Game and Fish, and Willwood Workgroup 2 are in the process of conducting the annual flushing flow in the Shoshone River, downstream of Buffalo Bill Dam. The flow helps protect native fish populations by mobilizing downstream sediment.
