Roos do college differently. As Kansas City's university, we provide a unique, affordable college experience that prepares our students for the real world.
SO KANSAS IS IN OUR NAME BUT KANSAS CITY WAS HERE BEFORE THE STATE OF KANSAS ALSO WE'RE IN MISSOURI BUT STUDENTS FROM KANSAS CAN GET IN-STATE TUITION AND NOW STUDENTS FROM ANY STATE CAN GET AN IN-STATE TUITION SCHOLARSHIP BUT WE'RE STILL A MISSOURI SCHOOL.
We have a responsibility to allow free speech, but we cannot condone physical disruptions of peaceful activities. We believe free speech can be exercised constructively in a way that doesn’t put people at risk. We are gathering facts and will review campus policies & procedures.
Please avoid all large gatherings at parties and restaurants/bars and practice mask-wearing and physical distancing on and off campus. Other universities are already changing fall plans due to a surge of COVID cases. We all have a responsibility to keep our community safe.
Don Cheadle, Kansas City native and acclaimed actor, will give the commencement address to UMKC students who are celebrating their graduations Dec. 19.

We actually have new ideas and energy on how we might accomplish the project and it continues to move forward. Expect word on those new developments in coming weeks. In the meantime, keep the faith Kansas City. We want this project to happen even more than you do. (2/2)
