I understand at the end of the day owning a sports franchise is a business. But it’s a luxury business to own. None of these owners are relying on their franchise to get by. Either take some pride and invest it in the team, or sell it for billions of dollars to someone who cares
Steer is reportedly being promoted to AAA-St Paul. I have him ranked as the Twins 9th best prospect. He hit 8 home runs with Wichita, and also hit over .300. 24 years old already, so could see him with the Twins sometime this year.

The
#MNTwins
are “hamstrung in their pursuit of trade acquisitions unless they’re able to dump a contract,” per
@BNightengale
MIN already cut payroll last offseason by ~$35M.
Twins PR framing this as Bremer retiring instead of the real story that he was fired/contract not renewed.
I’m not even one that thinks Bremer is amazing or anything, more the fact that he’s been here forever. He deserved better and a proper sendoff. Shame on the Twins.
The
#MNTwins
are expected to make Carlos Correa the biggest offer in team history, per
@DWolfsonKSTP
. They are pushing for a quick(er) decision from C4, and are open to including player options in the contract. The Twins have also “reached out” to Swanson.
Shocking that the fanbase isn’t bought in on a team that cut its payroll by 30 million dollars coming off a division championship and playoff series win. Who could’ve seen this one coming? Oh, everyone but the people in charge of the team.
Dick Bremer has been the voice of summer my entire life. He wasn’t perfect, but like a great friend, he was always there. I am going to miss this man’s voice when I turn on the Twins next spring. It will not feel like Twins baseball without Dick Bremer telling the story.

Twins are back on Bally Sports. You CANNOT purchase them through Bally Sports+ like you can for the Wild or TWolves, meaning you need to have access to Bally through cable, or out of market. Massive, massive failure after what was promised earlier. Shame.

who (probably) played their last game for the organization

Thank you for the fun season 🫡
Thoughts on the

new M logo? I wanted the M back, but this looks like a dollar store version of the Marlins with a random star added. Disappointment, imo.
Twins should've done exactly this. Insanely jealous of DBacks fans. A little over 60 cents to watch every game. Well worth it. Instead the Twins got a big bally contract that they aren't reinvesting.
Watching a team play bad that had no expectations going into the year stinks to watch, but at least it’s expected.
Watching a team that won the division, won a playoff series for the first time in 2 decades, slashed payroll, and then falls on their face is BRUTAL to support
Congrats to Ronny Henriquez on earning his first big league win in the
#MNTwins
5-2 victory over the Rangers, the organization he began his pro baseball career with
I really thought Joe Pohlad becoming the face of the Twins would be a good thing in both the short and long term for the Twins and Twins fans. Instead, they’ve given the middle finger to fans at nearly every chance they could.
Alex Kirilloff homered again. The wrist is as healthy as it’s gonna be. AK being stuck in St Paul tomorrow while Joey Gallo still occupies a roster spot would be malpractice.
My thoughts on
#MNTwins
attendance woes
1. Most fans can’t remember the last playoff W
2. Bad year last year, attendance lags
3. Fans can’t watch the games on TV
4. Downtown Minneapolis has a bad reputation whether you agree with it or not. Some will never feel safe again.
Still can’t believe this organization won it’s first playoff game and series in literal decades and decides to cut the payroll by 20 plus %. TV deal or not. Embarrassing and sad.
AL Central's current payrolls, per
@fangraphs
:
$151M — White Sox
$123M — Twins
$115M — Royals
$108M — Tigers
$96M — Guardians
They rank
#15
,
#20
,
#21
,
#22
, and
#28
out of 30 teams.
AL Central's average payroll is $119 million, which would rank
#21
out of the actual 30 teams.
Royce Lewis stopped listening to the hitting coach and had a great game…the entire team stopped listening to the hitting coach and has 5 runs in 2.1 innings….
Getting swept by the royals is a new low. Please trade Sonny Gray for a top 100 prospect. Call up Dallas. Trade Farmer, Kepler, Gallo, Castro, MAT for whatever you can get. Explore a Polo trade. Play out the year with the core. Maybe you sneak into the playoffs.
My predicted opening day lineup, assuming against a RHP
Julien 2B
Correa SS
Lewis 3B
Kepler RF
Buxton CF
Santana DH
Wallner LF
Jeffers C
Kirilloff 1B
Deep, dynamic, and good.
There are a lot of people on the national stage who are seeing our brand of baseball for the first time.
We make contact. We run the bases hard. We do the little things.
We don't care if you don't like it.
#ForTheLand
Matt Wallner goes WAY out to straight center in the lefty on lefty matchup for a 462 foot home run. He has massive raw power that we haven't seen in the system since Miguel Sano
#MNTwins
Hey
@MLBUA
you are all a bunch of losers and you have no friends. We want to watch baseball, not you ring someone up on a terrible pitch in a huge playoff moment.
The
#MNTwins
have won the AL Central in 9 of the last 21 years, good for nearly 43%. It hasn't always felt like it, but the Twins have been the cream of the crop in the ALC over the last two decades.
Ball was there before the runner even goes into a slide. It doesn’t matter what the catcher does at that point.
The
@MLB
umpires are consistently awful and quite possibly stole a win from the
#MNtwins
Trevor May has announced his retirement from baseball. May in his 6 seasons with the Twins
316 IP, 4.44 ERA, 10.5 K/9, 23 wins, 7 saves
May flourished in the Twins pen from 2018-2020 before going to the Mets and finishing his career in Oakland.
This, my friends, is embarrassing. A bad day to be a Twins fan. Scouts are not making enough money to make an impact on anything. This is just the Twins being insanely cheap.
Hot take?
If the
#MNTwins
miss the playoffs, Rocco should go. In 2022, the Twins were terrible down the stretch with a 10-18 record in September. Now they are 5-15 L20 and free falling. Injuries or not, the Twins have been brutal down the stretch in 2 of the last 3 seasons.
The
#MNTwins
have scored 3 runs or less in 32 games (51%), and two runs or less in 25 games (40%), yet the hitting coach isn’t under fire by the front office and the same players are ran out day after day.
Inexcusable.
As if we needed another reason to hate Bally, the opposing team does a better job at marketing the team than the hometown broadcast. Really disappointing. It’s not hard to do this every game and generate social media engagement, but we’re in Sept and it still hasn’t happened.
TWINS WIN!!!!! Pablo Lopez was phenomenal, the lineup was awesome against Framber Valdez, as was the defense. The Twins. do their job and bring this one back to Minnesota tied 1-1, making it a 3 game series in which the Twins hold home field, and pitching, advantage
I usually hate off-days during the season, but I am so glad to have a day off tomorrow. Playoff baseball is so stressful 😂 It'll be nice to just enjoy some NL playoff games where I'm not holding my breath every pitch.
Announced on Twins radio: Paul Molitor will fill in throughout the year for Dan Gladden when Gladden is away. Molitor is a pleasure to listen to in the booth.
Joe Pohlad is on WCCO rn, when asked about payroll dropping he pointed at the Tampa Bay Rays, and said "there are other ways to win" and that "they are focusing on other methods of winning currently"
I'm going to expand on it more tomorrow, but these are the five biggest needs for the Twins this off-season, imo
1.
#2
starting pitcher
2. Right handed power bat, probably an OF
3. Left handed reliever
4. Right/switch hitting utility infielder
5. MAT level center fielder

needs to show the entrance because it's going to be the most electric moment target field has seen in years
