For too long Africa's history has been neglected. I am thrilled to reveal the beautiful cover of my new book, An African History of Africa. I've had a great experience writing it and I can't wait to share it with you all. The link to pre-order is in my bio.
Yesterday we celebrated the publication of An African History of Africa.
My book is the culmination of over 7 years of travel, through more than 30 African countries.
Everyone is originally from Africa, and this book is therefore for everyone.
Thank you all for your support!
I’ve just received the bound proofs of my upcoming book, An African History of Africa, which will be published in April 2024.

So many people ask why I wore the same shirt for History of Africa series. It was filmed in 32 countries over a period of 6 years. So I needed continuity and I didn’t want my clothes to be a distraction. But I was clean - I had ten identical shirts!!

Great news that after more than two decades - Sudan is removed from the US list of states that sponsor terrorism. One of the last remaining obstacles for the post revolutionary government removed. Now recovery can properly begin.
On the day that Malcolm X family call for new inquiry into his murder I post this photo of my great uncle Professor Malik Badri second from right with Malcom. My uncle died this month. RIP.

Africa has lost two of its giants. Desmond Tutu and Richard Leakey. Two men I had the privilege of meeting and in Richard’s case getting to know. Very sad news. RIP
Wonderful Woman who appeared in the episode just broadcast at weekend in History of Africa : Kongo and the scramble for Africa died three days before the broadcast.

Africa has the longest history in the world because it’s where humans began. If you’re not from Africa, you’re an African export!

If you could have any writer, living or dead, over for dinner, who would it be, and what would you serve them?
The late Egyptian writer Nawal Al Saadawi, and I would serve her Middle Eastern mezze, kofte, rice and salad...
