OMG! I just had my UK citizenship approved and I just burst into tears. I feel stupid telling people how easy it is for me to cry, but I feel so relieved and proud (if proud is the right word?)
I need a bloody drink now!
On the 18th day of Pride, I would like to honour Kathleen Stock, the lesbian philosopher and writer. I greatly admire her courage in voicing her opinions despite the attempts to silence her. She is a person who's given me the strength to speak out for my beliefs.
On the 17th day of Pride, I would like to honour George Michael. This mention is personal. I first saw Wham! on Top of the Pops performing Young Guns! My older brother said: I bet he's gay! Being very young, I knew I was "different" but it was the first time I had a word for it.
On the 20th day of Pride, I would like to honour Magdalen Berns, a lesbian feminist and co-founder of For Women Scotland. MB's quote "I'd rather be rude than a f****** liar" is very powerful indeed. Here was a women not afraid of speaking her mind and I admire that.
On the 19th day of Pride, I would like to honour Jodie Foster, the famous actress. I have always admired how Jodie could portray such strong women and her talent is incredible. Reading about her I was affected by a specific quote: "If I fail, at least I will have failed my way"
Genuine question. I know I say I am happy to debate with anyone, but if I see pronouns in their bio, I just give up hope having a sensible conversation with that person. Do people here feel the same?
Enough now. This is quite frankly beyond acceptable. I have never seen hatred towards Jewish people on this scale. It is unacceptable and dangerous.
She should be disqualified for this nonsense. This is not what Eurovision is about.
Minister for Equality in Denmark declares:
There are only two genders.
You cannot change your biological sex.
Trans men are not biological men.
Trans women are not biological women.
The term "sex assigned at birth" is strange language.
A woman is an adult human female!
Well done

On the 5th day of Pride, I would like to honour Martina Navratilova. I am a huge fan of tennis and being a young gay man in the 80s, having a lesbian role model was of immense importance. Her campaigning for women's sport and continued involvement with charities is remarkable.
On the 4th day of Pride, I would like to honour Sally Ride. The first American woman astronaut. Reading about her life is awe-inspiring and incredibly interesting. Her first space flight was in 1983, and after her death in 2012 it was revealed she had been a lesbian for 27 years.

I just don't get this. I seriously don't. If JKR posted something even close to this, people would call her out big time. And I mean by everyone! Yet this infantile nonsense is deemed appropriate to tweet by a civil rights attorney of all people.
I think this is a horrendous Tweet. You cannot blame anyone other than the people who carried out the attack. To lay the responsibility of this unbelievable act on the below mentioned people is vile.
That's OK then..... seriously, do these people think about what they write. Imagine that had happened to them? This from the crowd that thinks misgendering is literally genocide. FFS!
I have just woken up to the devastating news that my friend Brett has passed away. He and I were beyond close and my heart is broken. I have no words that can express my deepest sadness today.
On the 25th day of Pride, I would like to honour Bev Jackson and Kate Harris, the two lesbians who founded LGB Alliance. Being faced with such strong opposition for fighting for the rights of LGB takes enormous courage and I admire them both greatly for continuing the fight.
On the 24th day of Pride, I would like to honour Declan Flynn; an Irish gay man killed for just being gay. His murder is seen as the catalyst for the LGB Pride movement in Ireland. I am honouring him today as a symbol of the many LGB victims around the world. Lest we forget them!
Just had the call from the consultant. My MRI scan has come back clear and the consultant says I'm fine! I'm so relieved I just started crying. In the office of all places! But happy tears.
Thank you for all the kind messages I have received. Sending you all much love. ❤️
This is such an incredible photo.
@Aja02537920
has such unbelievable courage and I'm just in awe of her. Four people screaming at a woman and they think they are on the right side?
On the 16th day of Pride, I would like to honour Joan Armatrading, the lesbian singer-songwriter. With a recording career of over 50 years, she's recorded some amazing folk, jazz and blues songs. One of my favourites being "Love and Affection" which is just stunning.
On the 15th day of Pride, I would like to honour Audre Lorde, a lesbian writer, poet, and activist. Her work was to fight the injustices of racism, sexism, and homophobia. Amazing poetry but what affected me most is a quote of hers: "Your silence will not protect you". Quite true
People who say: "oh but it was only soup"... Let me tell you this. I have never thrown a drink on anyone, poured soup over someone or otherwise assaulted a person. Whether man, woman or a trans person. You know why? Because I am not a scumbag.
I think this is a very irresponsible article pointing fingers at
@MForstater
and
@HJoyceGender
by calling them anti-trans rather than pro-women. Would the writer blame assaults on women on the toxicity from TRAs as seen on Twitter towards JKR for example?
Now that Aidan has tried to give Bev Jackson an ultimatum to change her profile banner, I have copied hers. I know it's childish, but I'm not having a straight man tell a lesbian what to do. Piss off.

On the 6th day of Pride, I would like to honour Mark Ashton, a gay rights activist. He formed the Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM) featured in the film Pride. He passed away from AIDS way too young. The song For a Friend is in his memory.
On the 5th day of Pride, I would like to honour Martina Navratilova. I am a huge fan of tennis and being a young gay man in the 80s, having a lesbian role model was of immense importance. Her campaigning for women's sport and continued involvement with charities is remarkable.
On the 3rd day of Pride I would like to honour Leslie Gore. A wonderful lesbian singer/songwriter who affected me greatly with her song You don't Own Me! A song about "fierce self-assertion." A message that's helped me in many situations.
Here she is:
On the 2nd day of Pride, I would like to honour
@FredSargeant
who is relentlessly trying to ensure the rewriting of gay history doesn't happen. I admire his robustness in getting the truth of the Stonewall riots out there. Bcause of him, I'm encouraged to revisit the place again!
Just seen Helen Joyce and Maya Forstater having to be escorted by the police. Pub has to shut early. Why? Because of idiotic Black Pampers. Makes me so bloody cross. Right side of history? Sod off.
For all the genocide talk and Nazi smears I see only one side attacked tonight - the women's. New Zealand should be utterly ashamed of themselves and so should

Yesterday at the party a woman told me she identifies as queer. I asked if she was a lesbian. No, no, I'm straight but most of my friends are part of the Queer community. Oh OK have you ever been a lesbian I asked. No, no, but I lived once in San Fransisco... seriously????
I love this post. It means there are still gay men who don't follow the LGBTQ+ crowd but are actually able to have their own opinions. And not afraid to voice them.
Wow! Copenhagen Pride is losing massive sponsors due to becoming too political. They demanded businesses declare support for Palestine and now businesses are withdrawing funding in response.
OMG. She's just brilliant. What the hell does Chris Bryant mean with: "I feel less safe...". I feel less safe knowing that children are being put through the worst medical scandal in history and few people actually care about it. Just astonishing.
Chris Bryant condescendingly attempts to shut down a debate following gender recognition order statement by saying he feels 'less safe'.
Kemi Badenoch wasn't having any of it!
Nicely done 👏👏👏
The last day of Lesbian VisabilityWeek, I would like to honour Magdalen Berns, a lesbian feminist and co-founder of For Women Scotland. MB's quote "I'd rather be rude than a f****** liar" is very powerful indeed. Here was a women not afraid of speaking her mind and I admire that.
I cannot for the life of me understand why this team has got a lot of hate on here. They are all trans men who played against men and took defeat in grace. It was organised and everyone playing agreed. They are having fun which is surely what matters to us all?
No one cares! Seriously, do your shopping like everyone else. Now, could PN do an article about women not being able to hold conf without threats, lesbian and gay people having to meet in secret or women being arrested for their opinions.
On the 14th day of Pride, I would like to honour Wilfred Owen, a gay man and one of the leading poets of World War I. "Anthem for Doomed Youth", a poem to the people lost in war, is especially moving. Owen was killed in action on 4 November 1918; a week before the armistice
On the 13th day of Pride, I would like to honour Oscar Wilde, the famous Irish poet and playwright. I think everyone knows his story and a tweet will not do it justice. His quotes are what have affected me, and especially this one: "Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."
I'm not going to share the repellent front pages glorifying the children that killed Brianna,once again demonstrating the extreme institutional transphobia of our press. Please if you can, help the organisations that support trans children every day. Lets do better 👇
Mark, I hate having to tell you, but us men really dont have a say over female spaces. Helen has every right to campaign for her beliefs without weirdos like you calling her a bigot etc. It has nothing to do with you.
The suggested community notes to
@jk_rowling
's post are kind of making her point? As in, how would women know who is trans and who isn't. Which then poses the next question: At what stage could women object to a male person in their spaces? Happy to be corrected.
This is horrendous. The first detransitioner in DK. He had his testicles removed after a misdiagnosis of his mental health issues. He doesnt want pity by telling his story. He wants gender reassignment for children and mentally vulnerable to stop!
I am going to get angry now. Over the weekend I have had personal threats, I have seen FS getting assaulted, I have seen a baby being shouted at, I have seen lesbians being abused, I have seen women getting shouted at in Brighton. And I am being told I support a hate movement!
On the 2nd day of Pride, I would like to honour
@FredSargeant
who is relentlessly trying to ensure the rewriting of gay history doesn't happen. I admire his robustness in getting the truth of the Stonewall riots out there. Bcause of him, I'm encouraged to revisit the place again!
On the first day of Pride I would like to honour this man who entered the Eurovision in 1961 singing about a gay relationship. At the time singing about a gay relationship would have been extremely difficult. AND he won. Anyway, here's to "We the Lovers"
So what was going to be a day of shenanigans took a bad turn. I had a seizure in front of John and was out for 20 mins. Been spending my day in hospital. I'm OK now and on way home. Just very scary. I am blessed with my friends John and Rik who were there for me. Love you ❤️❤️❤️
The amount of times I have seen someone telling women "well you could always build or make your own spaces" as a gotcha. JK Rowling has now done that and people are calling it the most sinister move ever seen etc?
I ended up having a debate with Owen Jones last night. About the use of "Homosexuality". OJ immediately called me "transphobe" even though I didn't once discuss anything trans. I was debating why Homosexuality is not wrong to use. Anyway, here is why he's against the word
On the 22nd day of Pride, I would like to honour Stormé DeLarverie, the lesbian civil rights activist and icon. I will let her powerful words describe the events at Stonewall: "It was a rebellion, it was an uprising, it was a civil rights disobedience – it wasn't no damn riot."
On the 21st day of Pride, I would like to honour Tchaikovsky, the famous composer. Tchaikovsky wrote some of the most popular concert and theatrical music, including the ballets Swan Lake and The Nutcracker. This piece has always affected me a lot
This is insane. She is a lesbian defending her rights and she gets suspended. I am seriously starting to hate this app. If anyone knows her irl please give her a hug and say The Viking will miss her like mad. She should NOT have been suspended. At all.
On the 23rd day of Pride, I would like to honour Alan Turing, the gay war hero who broke the Enigma code during WW2. Today is his birthday and my tweet could never convey how much we owe to this man. It is estimated that he and his team shortened the war by two to four years.

Thank you all for the wonderful responses. There are just so many and I'm quite touched. Today was the final stage of the citizenship drama and I have now sworn an oath to the king. Thank you again.
On the 8th day of Pride, I would like to honour Dusty Springfield. A lesbian icon who doesn't require much introduction. A quote of hers did affect me greatly: “My sexuality has never been a problem to me, but I think it has been for other people.”
On the 7th day of Pride, I would like to honour Lytton Strachey, a gay English writer of the Bloomsbury Group. I saw his story in the film Carrington (1995) and read about him further. One of his quotes affected me greatly:
"There are a great deal of a great many kinds of love"
Gay Times does an article about why Pride is still important. Guess how many times the following words are mentioned:
Gay 0
Lesbian 0
I do consider Pride to still be important, but I am feeling very excluded this year.
On the 19th day of Pride, I would like to honour Jodie Foster, the famous actress. I have always admired how Jodie could portray such strong women and her talent is incredible. Reading about her I was affected by a specific quote: "If I fail, at least I will have failed my way"
On the 18th day of Pride, I would like to honour Kathleen Stock, the lesbian philosopher and writer. I greatly admire her courage in voicing her opinions despite the attempts to silence her. She is a person who's given me the strength to speak out for my beliefs.
I wonder how long it will be before the words "gay" and "lesbians" are "banned" from our community for not being inclusive enough. I give it perhaps five years?
