I’d be okay if they increased the salaries BUT then make any type of stock trading ILLEGAL for people holding public office.
Long ETFs, mutual funds, bonds only.
Hot take: Crypto is not useful for long term wealth creation or just anything in general
I’m a software engineer who spends a lot of time in finance.
I understand the technology.
It has no practical application for most people, and likely won’t in the near term.
Thoughts?
@unusual_whales
Doesn’t make sense in the current day and age.
It’s basically just look up the house you want to see on Zillow/Redfin and send it to your realtor…
Eating out regularly is probably the biggest waste of money.
There's nothing wrong with going out once in a while, but more than 5 times a month... nah.
I’ve heard of parents buying houses and either holding the mortgage and renting it to their kid or selling it at a discount to their kid
Essentially wealthy parents are subsidizing housing to their kids…
Have you heard of this? Wish my parents did that 😅
@SpeakerMcCarthy
Fear mongering the defaulting of the national debt is negative for America as a whole. What happened to Full Faith and Credit of the US?
I’m going to accumulate an incredibly small position in $BTC
I’m going to buy $5/day into the future, after a year, it still will be an inconsequential position.
Will provide updates, hope you guys sell now cause it’s all down from here when I buy in!
I sold $20k worth of Tesla $TSLA shares in November 2019 to buy my first house. The shares would be worth over $250k today...
What's your biggest financial regret?
I’m a software engineer. Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies) have little to no technological value as-is.
It’s not as revolutionary or innovative as many claim:
It doesn’t solve any major problems that traditional software can’t solve.
The crypto projects that popped up in
@KobeissiLetter
That’s my gripe with a lot of these metrics. They’re not accurate when they get dropped but sneakily get updated later when most aren’t paying attention.
Thanks for pointing this out, it’s a huge difference.
I just sold 80% of my stocks this week.
Why?
I’m not trying to time the market, I’m consolidating from individual stocks to ETFs
I want a more passive form of investing as I hustle at work and work on other side projects, don’t have time for stock analysis
What about you?
@KobeissiLetter
It’s insane how much of a whirlwind this has been. One of the biggest acquisitions in history, essentially for free. I have a feeling the news isn’t over yet, maybe a regulator will have some input 🤔
Decided I’m going to buy 1 share of $SCHD (~$74) for every like on this post!
10 likes = $740
100 likes = $7400
I’m going to let this last one full week until next Friday at 12pm EST! Proof to follow.
Have mercy but don’t hold back!

The year over year or month over month inflation numbers really hide the true impact. As it compounds against us, it really begins to add up quick
Normal modest life is now expensive

Funny how the republican debate is the most diverse group I’ve ever seen on the debate stage, yet the democrats just skip them all together
Compound interest is CRAZY.
If I don't contribute any more to my brokerage, retirement accounts, or savings I'll have ~$3.8m by 65.
Time is on your side when you're young, start now.
@unusual_whales
By the numbers, they’ve had the most and easiest opportunity for success. Affordable homes, college, and life in general.
Wages have not kept up with inflation of other things and so the younger generation has to earn more/longer to afford the same things despite higher
@KobeissiLetter
Still waiting for an opportunity to buy in big. Kind of crazy but if we see big economic pain soon, he’ll be buying in droves for cheap
Warren Buffet says that he wouldn't pay $25 for all of the Bitcoin $BTC in the world.
According to him, it's rat poison that will almost certainly come to a bad ending.
I agree, but am hedging my bet by maintaining a small allocation to it.
Every time I move I say: “next time we’re 100% using movers” and then the time comes and I’m like “ehhh I can do it myself and save $2k+”
What do you guys do for moving?
@unusual_whales
For people asking clarification: The fee always existed, they’re just tweaking it. They pushed the higher fico score fee up by .5% and lowered the lower fico score fee by 1% or 1.25% depending where you read the news
My friend asked me recently:
Do I pay off $5k of credit card debt and have no emergency fund or keep the emergency fund and deal with the interest?
What would you tell them?
Super Bowl commercials were once the holy grail of marketing.
What I want to know is, have you guys ever bought something as a result of a Super Bowl commercial?
