A man who helped thousands of us get over hurt, loneliness, sadness but also enjoy the good times. He gave us his all and for that we are forever thankful for Scott.
"Be so good to everyone you love. It’s not a given."
Our venue opened on this day in 1934, which makes us 86! After the fire in 1958, we reopened again on this day in 1960. So Christmas Eve is a big deal for us!
The Barrowland family wishes you a wonderful Christmas 🎄 Stay safe, look after yourself and see you soon ❤
Some finish to the year, thanks to all the bands, fans, roadies, photographers, lighting crews, sound crews, the Big Issue guy outside, the Wreck-It-Ralphs that charge through the crowd for reasons better known to themselves - all of you. Merry Christmas x
We'll have our sign lit up every Thursday at 8pm for 1 hour as our way of saying thank you to all the key workers out there, starting tonight. Thanks to everyone for doing what you're doing - we'll get there 👍
The Barrowland has come together with the rest of the UK music industry to show our support for
#LetTheMusicPlay
, a campaign that highlights the crisis faced by the live music sector.
You can show your support by sharing a photo from your last gig using

We’re celebrating 40 years of Barrowland gigs and wanted to share some quotes from bands, artists and supporters on their thoughts of the venue. Thanks to everyone for the past 40 years, here’s to the next 40 🌟
It's actually kestrels. We got one to fly about during the day to keep insects away but they only come out at night time.
Our Kestrel Manoeuvres In The Dark, you could say
The Barras market will be open, as is tradition, until midnight tomorrow night for any one like me who leaves it to the very last minute to do their Christmas shopping!
The Barrowland Roar is on BBC Alba at 9pm tonight, not to be missed. Stories and interviews with bands and artists about our venue. It’ll also be on iPlayer for 30 days too 👍
A very Merry Christmas to you all 🎄We first opened our doors on Christmas Eve in 1934 and after a fire in ‘58, re-opened on Christmas Eve 1960; it’s a special day for us. Thank you for the many years of memories. Hope you all have a great time and get plenty of gig tickets!
We opened our doors for the first time on this day in 1934. With nowhere for the market traders Christmas dance, the McIver family built the original ballroom which burned down in 1958. 📷 BBC
Mind back in the day when people would start texting from mid-afternoon saying Happy New Year because phone networks would be too busy to send it at midnight? A simpler time.
How are you all doing? Hope you're all staying safe, well and healthy. Looking forward to seeing your faces when this all blows over. What are you all listening to?
Special shout out to

Please note, show times will not be shared in advance for

tonight or tomorrow night. Quite rightly, they'd prefer you to come along and enjoy a night of brilliant music from start to finish. Doors will open as usual at 7PM and the music begins shortly after.
How we all doing folks? Hope you're keeping well and looking after each other?
Just saying hello and thanks for keeping in touch about gig updates. As mentioned previously, I'll share any news as and when we we have it for upcoming shows and cannot wait to see you all again✌
40 years ago today the dust had settled after Simple Minds had recorded their video for Waterfront the day before. From that day on we grew and grew as a music venue to where we are today. Thank you to all the bands, artists, promoters and fans ❤️

We are in the process of working through the new Covid guidance.
At the moment we don't know what shows will be affected but please stick with us and we'll post any updates as and when we have them 👍
Hope you all have a great Christmas and we'll see you in the New Year(ish)
It's
#WorldPhotographyDay
but instead of all the amazing images being shared, let's see your worst gig photos - I'll start with this beezer from Twin Atlantic that I took a few years back
Haven't done an 'On This Day' for a while but this one was a must. On 10th Janury 1964, The
@RollingStones
played The Barrowland.
@MickJagger
thought the building was on fire when they pulled up because of the steam coming out the windows from the amount of people dancing 💃🕺
Thank you to everyone that came along to the Doors Open Day today and spent time with Gareth, David and I. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did 👍 Great to share some stories and hear some of yours too. Until next time!
Looking forward to welcoming you today if you managed to secure a space for the Doors Open Day tours. Backstage, onstage and most places in between await
We re-opened on Christmas Eve 1960. Although the stage has moved sides, the Ballroom is almost the same as it was back then as it is today. The ceiling was designed to specifically circulate sound and lock it in the room, giving us the iconic Barrowland sound
