It is with heavy hearts that we sadly announce that Tewksbury Police K-9 Geox passed away Monday December 11 after a sudden illness. K-9 Officer Al Piccolo and Geox were partners for 6 years, and they provided outstanding service to the department together. He will be missed. 💙
My last day with the Tewksbury PD will be July 3, 2023. This will also be my last day living in Tewksbury, as I am moving forward with the next phase of my life in Florida.
Yesterday, members of the Tewksbury Police Dept, friends, family, and Ofc Piccolo's fellow K-9 handlers gathered to pay respects and say good bye to K-9 Geox. Ofc Piccolo and his family are truly grateful for the outpouring of support from the community. TPD47

In 2 separate incidents, Officers displayed acts of kindness that doesn't always get recognized. This is why these officers took the oath to not only protect and serve, but to help others. This profession is unique, we are called when most are at the worst moment in their lives.
Officers from our day shift drove by to wish a couple young residents a happy birthday! Jay Jay is 6 today and his brother Collin is 4 tomorrow! Happy birthday from the TPD!

Happy National Dog Day to our own K-9 Leo! K-9 Leo had a busy day doing what he loves. He assisted with locating a male with multiple warrants for his arrest that ran into the woods. K-9 Leo spent his afternoon chewing a bone and enjoying the weather! TPD95
We recently received a letter from Avery Romano, a 2nd grade student at the Dewing School who asked if she could meet Waffles because she thought he was so cute. Officer Waffles made a trip to meet Avery and several other classes as well, putting a smile on everyone’s face.

Matty and her mom came in to say thank you to Ofc Matt Donovan. Matty was stuck in a locked and running car the other day and Ofc Donovan kept her calm and entertained until Tewksbury FD arrived with tools to open the doors. She also dropped off some pizza for the shift! TPD47
Our own Officer Vasconcellos requested to attend the funeral of U.S. Navy Eileen Robicahud, who had no surviving family herself. Robicahud, a decorated Korean War veteran who served honorably in a naval aviation squadron from Sep 8, 1953 - Sep 6, 1957 was laid to rest today.

As Chief, I have the unique experience to ask police candidates why they want to serve, there are some touching stories, but this one stands out. What makes this department special is the people, we are lucky to have such brave men and women who want to give back.
