After tonight’s results we are simply blown away to be confirmed as champions and to secure promotion to the Isthmian League
Up The Barrowmen
Very sad news we have received last night that Ollie Rolfe, one of our successful u18 squad from a few years ago, took his own life this week. He was just 21 years old.
We send our condolences to his family and friends at this very very sad time.
We are devastated today to learn that ex Steyning Town u18 and youth player Finley Shephard, 19, was killed in a car crash this week near Steyning.
The talented youngster had come through the clubs youth system

Not the best photo but great to see Lewis Dunk at The Shooting Field tonight. He was fantastic and very patient with our young players and was very good with the gatemen too 😅
Today a family, a group of friends and a whole community in mourning will lay Finley Shephard to rest.
Rest in peace Finley. You touched so many and will never be forgotten.
Our hearts are broken but we still have memories, love and eternal hope.
The club are deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Jane Murphy, wife of our first team manager and club general manager Gerry Murphy.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all her friends and family.
Our full statement is on our website here
Gutting news to share tonight that men’s 1st captain Alex Gathern has retired from competitive football with immediate effect after medical advice. Full story, club reaction and statement from Alex in our club website here.
Thankyou Gathers 👏🙌 🏆 ⭐️
With the news of Ollies passing it is another reminder for us all to look out for one another.
Everyone will need support and help at some stage and will be struggling.
Please never be afraid to ask for help.

top flight for the first time since the late 80s.
What an achievement from everyone across the club
Today we are announcing Gerry Murphy is stepping down as Steyning Town FC mens first team manager at the end of the current season after 6 years at the helm.
Read the full statement on our website on the link below.
Thankyou for everything Gerry.
A huge turn out for the funeral of Jane Murphy, wife of 1st team manager Gerry today. This showed the high regard in which she was held by so many.
It was a very moving service and wake, with lots of tears shed, as we all remembered Jane.
Quite simply a wonderful lady.
The players and coaches take the plaudits and rightly so, but what a day for our committee, volunteers, bar staff, kitchen staff, cleaners, supporters, sponsors and all round grafters.
Behind the scenes we have an unbelievable team; we salute you all….. also a bunch of winners.
It was an honour to host the family & friends of Ollie Rolfe last night. Ollie sadly took his own life last week at the age of 21. There was a minutes applause to celebrate his life last night and on the gate we raised,so far, over £750 for the Samaritans.
NEW MENS FIRST TEAM MANAGER AT STEYNING TOWN FC
We are excited to announce Kevin Green as our new mens first team manager.
A warm welcome Kevin and we hope your time with us is successful, progressive and fun!
Full announcement here on the website
There will be a minutes applause in memory and celebration of Finley Shephard before our mens home game against Worthing Utd at 3pm tomorrow.
Everyone is invited to come along and show their love and support for Finley, his family and friends.
Spread the word & share the ❤️
We are really saddened to hear of the passing of Dave Barnard. A real character on the local football scene and an excellent ref and youth coach. Always loved to see him doing keepie uppirs when walking out as a ref.
RIP Dave and thankyou
A big THANKYOU to the 1,135 supporters who came and cheered on the teams yesterday. A day that will live long in the memory.
60 mascots creating the tunnel on to the pitch was superb to see.
The first team put in a great show winning 6-0 against
@worthingutdfc
today in pre season.
A huge thankyou to both sides and officials for the part they played in the tribute to Finley today, and the turn out from everybody was simply incredible.

13 yrs ago we were insolvent,on the brink with £30k of debts & had the worst pitch in living history
Now we are alive,on the way back & we think you guys should pay us a visit as one of the lowest ranked sides left in the FA CUP
Hopefully the FA throw the book at Mitrovic this week and there can begin a proper change in the attitude towards referees who are human beings there to try help everyone play and enjoy football.
If you can’t control your emotions suitably then don’t play, coach or manage.
The kids have got to go to school.
The players have good to get up for work.
Everyone had a great time.
People stayed late clearing up.
Non-league is hard work but very special sometimes.
Thank-you everyone working hard to make last night happen.
And yes, it did happen. 😜
(Most of) our fab staff at the game at the weekend who served nearly 1,000 pints, knocked up some cracking food & set up / broke down everything - all with a smile.
Thanks for all your support 🍺⚽️
You can never have enough people helping in non league!
@maidstoneunited
What a night at The Shooting Field. No win in 8 league games. Off the back of an absolute spanking 3 days earlier. Gerry back in the crowd after his recent tragic news. And the team, players & coaches, pull a huge effort out of the bag and get a big 3 points.
Up the Barrowmen
We were delighted to receive this photo this week of a Kenyan u14 team making great use of our old kit, equipment and balls we donated to them. Great to see the happy result of a donation like this.
First match under the new lights and what a night it is already. Sod the rain. This is what it’s all about. We are delighted to give these guys the stage

Sin bins coming in next season at step 5 and 6 .
Wait for the FA dictate that all dug outs need to seat 10 people to accommodate this. 😳 Will probably need to be done by 31st March 2019 otherwise you will be a relegated club.
Tomorrow night we take on
@upperbeedingfc
in The John Brown trophy. KO19:45
We will be playing the game in memory of former player Ollie Rolfe and gate proceeds will go towards the Samaritans.
Ollies family will be in attendance and we will remember him before the game.
Having seen the demise of another SCFL club today it goes to show the most important role of a chairman and a committee is to recruit a continual stream of other volunteers, sponsors and supporters. If you keep trying to do it with the same people it will eventually implode.
Wow. THE KEEPER HAS SCORED. Steyning keeper Sam Marsden has just scored direct from a kick from his hands.
Bagshot keeper has gone AWOL and the kick was a monster. One bounce and in.
3-1 Steyning v

It’s a coup!

The team did us proud. We had our moments and the score is probably a fair reflection overall.
Thank-you to everyone at Maidstone. Top class all round.
@markgoldbridge
Are you for real 🤢
Step 5 / 6 clubs play over 50 games a season and the players have day jobs. Have a reality check. Don’t forget the roots and the actual love of the game; not the over priced, over hyped rip off garbage you are now involved with
A big shout out to our first team physio Emily . Currently on the front line in the hospital providing physio services to many patients including plenty with Covid 19. Big respect to you Emily, and all your colleagues. Get out and clap them all at 8pm 👏👏👏🙌
We are delighted to have been named the
@thescfl
team of the month for October.
7 wins (one on pens) and a draw.
Well done to Kev, Dan, Woody and all the support team, and of course the players & everyone who does their little bit. One big team effort.
Up The Barrowmen.
What a journey. We are going to enjoy tonight that’s for sure.
From languishing in Div 1 and £30k in debt to where we are now, with our own 3G pitch, in just over 12 years has been a memorable journey with a long list of people to thank.
Tonight is for all those people 🙏
Welcome Harry Shooman! Another of the Whitehawk promotion winning squad joins the Barrowmen!
Come down to the Shooting Field tomorrow to watch our first game of the season to see Harry and the rest of the new signings / retained players in action.

It’s not too late to come snap up a ticket
So the FA chief is stepping down.He defines success as having a decent England side & a top facility @ StGeorges. Cheers pal. What about getting some cash down the ladder to help clubs at lower levels.Seems like we do everything to get not a lot back. Is anyone listening up there?
We are delighted to announce our new floodlights will be installed from Monday.
Twice as bright on the pitch, zero light pollution outside the ground and halving our carbon emissions.

What a great bunch of volunteers we have. Giving up all day today to cook christmas lunch for around 30 elderly folk in Steyning. The smiles on some of the faces were priceless. Well done guys.

Announcing our u23 management & coaches for next season.
For those that know the club well Alex Gathern, Mike Spence, George Staples and Grant Ansbro need no introduction.
Exciting times & you can read the thoughts of new manager on our website here
People argue the pros and cons of 3G and everyone rightly has an opinion. One of the pros is definitely having a cuppa at home not worrying about getting hold of a ref to sort a pitch inspection, and the inevitable is it on / is it off calls from the oppo waiting to set off
Today we are delighted to announce and officially welcome Dan Viggers and Danny Wood to the club.
Viggers will be joining Kev Green’s mens first team set up as assistant manager and ‘Woody’ is joining as Head Coach.
Welcome to the Barrowmen Dan and Woody.
