1/4 Some more comments: The high demand for tx on Ethereum is great but it is unfortunate that the demand is much higher than what Ethereum can process. Concerning is that we seemingly accepted Ethereum block space is very scarce and has to be very expensive - a whale chain.

Ethereum transactions require users to own ETH to pay for fees. @gnosisSafe lays the foundation to allow users to pay fees with any ERC20 token by combining the user transaction with a refund transaction refunding the submitter. No hard fork required.

1/ Back to important issues: The current implementation of the ETH2 deposit contract would favor centralized staking services. By allowing to set the withdrawal address to an ETH1 address, we can make those rights tradable and allow for non-custodial staking (e.g. using Safe)!
