After Jake Humphrey wound down his 10-year stint with BT Sport last night, let’s look back at some of his most ‘Partridge’ moments whilst live on-air… (THREAD)
Humphrey’s continued attempts to be ‘one of the boys’ also takes a major hit during this rather cringe-inducing piece of footage with Sir Alex Ferguson.
As Jake proceeds to be left out of Fergie’s conversation, his fake laughing and looks towards the camera are pure Partridge…
Another ex-pro who was not best pleased with Humphrey’s high-performance ribbing was Martin Keown.
A lesson that, if making light of someone being late live on-air, it’s probably best to have asked them why beforehand…
Throughout his decade at BT, Jake thoroughly enjoyed giving out ‘banter’ to his punditry team, which often yielded mixed results.
Maybe in this instance, mocking David Ginola’s outfit live on air was always going to end badly…
And what better way to end this then featuring a clip of Peter Crouch shredding Jake Humphrey following a slip of the tongue.
His presence might have been divisive to most, but his high-performance lifestyle and ‘World Class Basics’ will surely leave a legacy for years to come..
If Keown does intend to have a scrap with Humphrey, he will likely have a tag-team partner in David James.
After Jake makes a below-the-belt jibe at James’ playing career, the former England number one responds by giving him a steely glare, warning that they’re “gonna fall out”

Last night’s UCL Final might well have been Humphrey’s swansong, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t enough time for him to deliver this golden final piece of ‘High-Performance’ insight.
Speaking of Partridge, the comparisons do not stop there following this remarkable piece of television.
In a clip that could easily be ripped from the script of ‘This Time’, Jake Humphrey attempts to convince us that he’s just walked from East London to Brisbane, Australia.
Clearly still irked following that experience, Keown finally cracks and loses it with Humphrey after he goes one dodgy question too far.
“You’ve jumped a couple there, haven’t you!” Keown barks, who then proceeds to square up to the presenter, looking ready to throw some hands.
Not even the pundit’s former clubs are safe from Humphrey’s ridicule.
Here, a joke towards Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard on the Red’s transfer policy goes down like a lead balloon on the Titanic…
Alongside dashing humour and valuable insight, relatability is also a major asset to any presenter’s repertoire.
Unfortunately for Jake here, his attempt to be ‘one of the lads’ with blokey-talk of “cracking open a couple of beers” doesn’t appear too convincing…
