3 DAYS TOUR OF NORTHERN KENYA 2 yrs ago, Team Junk Miles, a cycling team I am part of cycled from Nairobi to Moyale the border town of Ethiopia, 780 km in 3 days. I only managed to escort them up to Nyeri and came back to Nrb because I was not prepared mentally and physically.

Sadly the ubiquitous rumblestrips had ruined my water cage 🥲 Replaced it at Nanyuki at 210 km. Endured some tough rain just before Timau and an almost endless climb to Kisima. Dropping to Subuiga (Isiolo - Meru Junction) was scary with cross winds 💀💀 and steep slopes.

A pit stop at Bomet at the 100km mark for tea rejuvenated me, and from thereon, I relished the flat stretches that adorned the Rift Valley floor. By now headwinds were idling around and beyond Mulot, they would be intensifying opposing my progress.

Today to fix my mental health away from code, I joined my cycling friends from Cyclopedia for a junk ride to Ndakaini Dam. Despite the contrasting in Nairobi we still made made it there and back. 200 km for me in 8 hrs. Check out my activity on Strava:
