They made a good point: How bad can climate change really be, when leaders like John Kerry fly around the world, but then tell people not to fly? ✈️ This is in line with evidence showing that advocates with high carbon footprints are less effective:

@Amtrak We enjoyed these breathtaking views of Utah in the observation deck, while playing cards and having drinks with other passengers. The vibe on the train is very social, got to talk to lots of lovely people. The main reason people seem to choose the train: convenience and scenery.

The views in Colorado and Utah are absolutely amazing! Definitely the most scenic train ride I've ever taken. Rivers, mountains, canyons: this route has it all. @Amtrak conductors take on the role of tourist guides and share insights about the surrounding landscapes.

Decided to book a roomette for the overnight ride, which was very comfortable traveling solo and also included several meals. Only downside was lacking WI-FI. Saw a beautiful sunset in the DC area and woke up to the sun rising in Georgia after about 9 hours of sleep ☀️ @Amtrak

It was great to meet up with @r_birdshouts who is running from the UK to Mongolia (!) to meet people who are dedicated to tackling the climate crisis. We talked about @postgrowthzh and the necessity of a #degrowth transition to tackle environmental and social issues. @LeedsAlumni

The results of our study and those of others point towards a perception-engagement gap. Namely, that scientists don’t engage as much as they perceive they should because they are afraid to lose credibility. 9/

#CO2Gesetz

Sadly, my research stay @Harvard came to an early end, and plans to return to Europe by cargo ship fell through.. In these times, having colleagues and supervisors who regularly check in means so much! Thank you @cb_eth @NaomiOreskes

Representing @degrowth_ch , @a_v_linn and I talked to @_bella_webb at @voguebusiness about what style, creativity, policy, and self-expression could look like in a #degrowth society. Yes, you read that correctly: #vogue is talking about #degrowth !
