Was really impressed by Falcons media today. They weren’t giving Blank and McKay soft balls by any means. Watson was brought up, Lamar was brought up, and they were unrelenting about why Fontenot wasn’t there (props to Zinno here). The people in that room did their jobs.

This team is coming off of three straight 7-10 seasons and we’re pretending like the roster is so good that we have the luxury of passing up on anyone who may be able to immediately contribute in the draft. Give me a break.

If you’re upset the Falcons didn’t draft any Day 1 starters, don’t be. That speaks to the quality of the roster. Your roster must be pretty rough if you need a bunch of rookies to start day one. It’s a luxury to have rookies start out as depth players.

Safety Jevon Holland was taken with the 36th pick in the 2021 Draft. The Falcons held the 35th pick; Terry Fontenot traded back to 40 and took Safety Richie Grant instead.
