She said this “is something I cannot be a part of, and I will not be associated with a provincial government that takes away the rights of children, especially vulnerable children.”

The former PR director for Layton and Notley won the nomination tonight. The former Chief of Staff is now a high-profile candidate.
She will now face former Roughrider turned cabinet minister Gene Makowsky.
Today, Official Opposition Leader Carla Beck announced that former SaskTel CEO and former Deputy Minister of Finance Ron Styles would be joining her team as a Senior Advisor to the Leader.
Government of Sask billboards state a 7% increase (over three years) is a fair deal for teachers because the “average salary is $92K per year.”
The STF published the educator pay scale and in order to make $92K you must have two degrees and 10 years experience.

Today Premier Moe announced the next budget will include the biggest funding increase to education in the provinces history.

🟧 Kim Breckner won the NDP’s contested nomination for Saskatoon Riversdale last night.
Breckner is a Saskatoon-based lawyer. She is also the Chair of Nuit Blanche and the first female president of Saskatchewan Drag Racing Association.
This was the last straw. This Minister has been caught lying publicly time and time again.
Then to treat a grieving mother this way?
This Minister has no respect or compassion for the people he serves.

🟧 The Saskatchewan NDP has named Cheantelle Fisher as their candidate in Moose Jaw North for the next provincial election.
Fisher is the 31st candidate nominated by the NDP.
🟧 Thera Nordal won a contested nomination to be the Saskatchewan New Democrat Candidate in Last Mountain-Touchwood for next provincial election.
Nordal is a small business owner, grain farmer, and 30th candidate nominated by the Sask NDP.

🟧 Mike Tapola has been acclaimed as the Sask NDP candidate for Wood River.
Tapola is an emergency care paramedic and a decade-long high school sport coach.

🟧 Lorne Schroeder has been acclaimed as the Saskatchewan New Democrat Candidate in Kelvington-Wadena for Next Provincial Election.
Schroeder is the former Reeve of Leroy and is a mixed farmer. He is the 29th candidate nominated by the NDP.

🟧 Noor Burki and Jared Clarke have been nominated as the NDP candidates for Regina Coronation Park and Walsh Acres, respectively.
Both are parents and teachers in Regina. They won the by-elections in Regina this summer.
Tonight the NDP will hold a contested nomination meeting in Saskatoon Stonebridge.
The candidates are Shawn Bennett and Darcy Warrington.
The winner will go up against Bronwyn Eyre in the next election.

Just in: Greg Lawrence resigns from the Sask Party Caucus due to "an active police investigation... into historical complaints."
Not clear what that investigation is about or what police department is investigating.
Today Finance Minister Donna Harpauer announced a $250M deficit.
A few months ago the projection was a $1.5B surplus.
The Minister cites faltering resource revenues and unexpected drought.
“We have the right to have those views, but to come around and continue to push those views onto someone else — this is an unfortunate incident,” Moe said.
She has threatened execute town officials.
The people of Richmond don’t deserve this and she should be removed ASAP.

2024 will not only see a general provincial election, but also municipal elections across the province.
Wednesday, November 13 will be the date for municipal elections.
The Saskatchewan NDP has nominated 30 candidates for the 2024 Provincial Election.
50% of the candidates are women.
Nomination meetings for the Saskatchewan NDP will resume in the new year.
The MLA for Regina Northeast Gary Grewal is the owner of the hotel in question. He is not involved in the day-to-day operations of the hotel.
Mr. Grewal has not yet been nominated as a candidate for 2024.
Opposition critic Meara Conway says a Regina senior receiving aid from the Ministry of Social services has raised "serious" questions about whether the government is paying unnecessarily inflated rates to hotels for rooms owned by a government MLA.

The deadline for candidates has been extended as no leadership candidate has emerged.
Jeff Walters stepped down as leader earlier this year.
The Government of Canada has their own pavilion. Alberta, BC, Quebec, and Newfoundland are all going with the Government of Canada.
It has also been reported that Mayor Sandra Masters is attending and that Environment Minister Christine Tell will not be attending.
