The Prince and Princess of Wales spent an hour meeting volunteers, ambulance staff, council staff and many more who made sure the Queen received a fitting farewell on Monday.
The Queen placed the sword which belonged to her father upon Captain Sir Tom’s shoulders in beautiful sunshine inside the Castle walls. She had a brief chat with him before his family were also brought forward.

@samhussein
👏👏👏 (although doesn’t quite convey how freezing and miserable it was there last night)
👇🏼Genuine excitement in Dagenham when Meghan made a surprise school visit. She broadened the relevance and appeal of the Royal family. The film below a timely reminder of that...
A spokesperson for Prince Harry confirms he will not be returning to the UK later this month to attend Prince Philip’s Service of Thanksgiving. But that he does hope to visit his grandmother soon.

The couple are still in mourning (as is the rest of the family) but I was told they were adamant they wanted to come in person and say thank you…and it was with the King’s blessing.

Sussex spokesperson says that the Duke’s words were a “non partisan call for decency in how we engage with each other”. Not for the first (or last) time- an interesting and inevitable debate over whether they have broken royal protocol.

I love that you can see the detail- shot on 68mm as opposed to 35mm. This is thought to be unique- showing Queen Victoria in close-up. You can even make out the tiny sunglasses she is wearing!

A brilliant and supportive colleague. One of very few journalists who most of the public know by name.
So many career highlights- but for me, it has to be his flawless handling of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Very sad that he is leaving - but my goodness, what a career!
After 47 fantastic years we will be bidding farewell to Royal Correspondent Nicholas Witchell, who will be retiring next year.
Nick has reported from across the world and presented key BBC News shows.
Thank you for your remarkable service!
What’s the best breakfast after a very early start? This morning’s

who killed her husband after what was said to be decades of emotional abuse has had her murder conviction reduced to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. It means she will not face a retrial.
Rather sweet moment when Prince Charles explains the symbols on his Investiture Coronet to his wife (fun fact- it’s the constellation of his star sign Scorpio). He also asked whether it has had a good clean (answer: yes)
This is so beautifully written. As many tributes today have made clear, George was brilliant at his job but combined that with being a lovely human being. He will be deeply missed.
It’s 100 years since King George V unveiled the stone Cenotaph en route to the Abbey for the burial of the Unknown Warrior. Today- his granddaughter the Queen is expected to watch from the Foreign Balcony as her son lays a wreath on her behalf

A sussex spokesperson: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no plans to ask the U.S. government for security resources. Privately funded security arrangements have been made.
I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom. It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!
It was a struggle to fill 26 mins this year as so little has happened on the Royal front 😉. Here’s what I managed to pull together...final showings tomorrow on
