My
#1
Choice for Mayor,
@AndrewYang
! Andrew has a sensible public safety plan, he’s an outsider, not a member of political class that has eroded quality of life in NYC last 8 years, no whiff of corruption & loves & understands Staten Island!
A New Yorker commenting on broken MTA cameras at 36th Station where shooting took place, I received a $50 ticket for driving 36 MPH, those cameras are always functional.
My endorsement of
@AndrewYang
has been received extremely well on social media. Unsurprisingly there are detractors who don’t agree with Yang on this issue or that issue. I don’t agree with Andrew on a number of issues but big picture he’s the best option for a fresh start in NYC
Ouch, IRS tax returns from 2020 & 2022 show that NYS lost 21 Billion in tax revenue from wealthy residents moving to other states. Florida was top beneficiary of the exodus.
I meant what I said today when I endorsed
@AndrewYang
, if u want to break the grip of the political class over our government & give it back to the people, Andrew is our best shot! Tomorrow until June 22nd you will have the opportunity to go & vote for Yang

To Bloomberg, government and policy are too important to be left to the people. . A provocative piece which speaks to my main concern re
@MikeBloomberg
’s candidacy, a further erosion of what’s left of our democracy
funny some people are questioning
@AndrewYang
qualifications to be Mayor. He's not experienced etc, Yang is a Columbia Law School graduate, a hard worker, an entrepreneur, waged a respectable campaign for Pres.
@BilldeBlasio
30 years of "govt experience", & we know the results
I am going to be very blunt, most of
@NYCCouncil
is replete with unemployable ideologues & professional pols who also could never earn 150G in private sector
I am somewhat knowledgeable about the intangible trait in a candidate, that is chemistry with people.
@AndrewYang
has it. I saw it on Forest Ave as he engaged with people today
Tomorrow is 9/11 & we remember thousands who were murdered including hero firefighters & police officers. This is the last photo of hero firefighter Jimmy Riches, uncle & namesake of my grandson as he prepared to climb up stairs of WTC to rescue people. RIPJimmy!
the one thing I know about
@AndrewYang
is that if he loses the election he will just go back to work in the private sector. If
@BilldeBlasio
had lost in 2013 he would apply for unemployment
I have won & lost elections & winning feels better than losing. However, to the many who lost Tuesday, if you ran for the right reasons & stayed true to yourself know it’s a noble thing. Don’t let the faint of heart who criticize but don’t have guts to get into arena get to u!
As far as
@mayawiley
is concerned re public safety, it’s interesting that only
@harrysiegel
reported that once her husband got mugged in Brooklyn she & her neighbors hired private security to patrol their block.
Discussed a couple of items with
@AndrewYang
today, public safety & pay to play corruption & was pleasantly surprised. Yang supports Democracy Vouchers which would significantly reduce pay to play corruption & he understands the importance of an adequately staffed
@NYPDnews
If my 2 daughters who are educators in NYC public schools contract Coronavirus bc of
@BilldeBlasio
’s gross negligence I will personally sue the Mayor & try the case myself
The recent poll that shows
@AndrewYang
in second place behind
@ericadamsfornyc
was conducted between June 10th & 17th. I would argue that recent events have resulted in a boost for
@AndrewYang
’s candidacy. So despite what the
@nypost
is trying to do this is a close race.
We are in the lead! The numbers show a tight race against the politics of the past, but a clear path to reclaiming our government and making it work for the people and families of New York. Please vote to keep the momentum going!
@NYCComptroller
@NYCComptroller
with a common sense suggestion that should have been made 2 weeks ago. The quicker we do this the faster we will be to contain this monster & return to some normalcy
I will announce my
#1
Choice for Mayor tomorrow at a press conference on Staten Island urging approximately 70,000 Democratic voters who voted for me in 2017 over
@BilldeBlasio
(worst Mayor ever) to support the candidate I recommend!
My recommendation to
@TishJames
to put to rest any doubt she will take the plague of public corruption in NY seriously she should announce that she will ask
@ZephyrTeachout
to head a public integrity unit
It’s interesting
@mayawiley
attacking
@AndrewYang
after
@nytimes
piece debunking his jobs claims. If I were Yang my retort would be, u were
@BilldeBlasio
lawyer & allowed & counseled him on how to get around a huge conflict of interest called “agents of the City”.
The endorsement of
@AndrewYang
from the
@UFANYC
is a big deal! The firefighters are well respected around the City & a big boost in outer Boro neighborhoods & of course Staten Island.
@AndrewYang
will accept the endorsement of the Uniformed Firefighter's Association in Queens this morning. Union pres. Andy Ansbro tells me they're sick of politicians who make promises but never deliver on more firehouses for built up areas like Hudson Yards and LIC.
Would love to see more people that are successful outside of politics running for office! We need smart talented people willing to serve the public for a short time then go back to their professions! The opposite of that is happening
@AndrewYang
with best answer on public safety so far, points out massive retirement of officers & need to staff up by recruiting more officers, need for more detectives to address the problem of 3 out 4 shooters not being caught
Amazingly
@mayawiley
acknowledges that she counseled her “client”
@BilldeBlasio
to adopt a scheme called “agents of the city” sanitizing lobbyists who have clients with business before City and deputizing them as “advisors” to the Mayor! Just incredible malpractice
Believe or not there are people out there who file false complaints against police officers & while I understand need for public to be aware of an officers disciplinary record, how fair is to a PO to have unsubstantiated complaints made public?
There’s no doubt that
@BilldeBlasio
is doing all he can to help
@ericadamsfornyc
& derail
@AndrewYang
! If Adams win I anticipate that a deBlasio family member or members will be back on the public payroll.
As I predicted in many a tweets, this from Democratic Congressman Tim Ryan in
@WSJ
, “I think the defund the police issue hurt a lot of our candidates”.
It’s almost embarrassing to listen to some
@NYCCouncil
members discussing the fiscal issues facing the City. Some of these folks couldn’t run a candy store yet they are waxing eloquently about a $100B budget
I can go through the Mayor’s office, the City Council payroll, & every agency and save the City millions by eliminating do nothing highly paid patronage posts. The folks doing the real work are stressed & understaffed.
Proud to campaign for
@AndrewYang
at Staten Island Ferry with Andrew Ansbro, President of
@UFANYC
, Johnny Ramirez, 1st VP of
@CeaNypd
&
@Michael_Cusick
! Great reception for
@AndrewYang
& many firefighters in red Yang t shirts were a big hit
My 94 yr old mom slaved over a sewing machine as a garment worker for 34 yrs, today I was discussing her $120 a month pension with her. She's fortunate that she has children & social security to help her, but we must do better to help seniors who struggle in their twlight years.
N.Y.C. Pride Will Take Steps to Keep Police Out of Parade and Events - The New York Times. What a disgrace, a group who for years was excluded from parades now become excluders. As someone who fought to give them equal rights, I am embarrassed for them
Some of the most virulent anti police pols are white “progressives” who live in wealthy neighborhoods & whose constituents live in doorman protected buildings etc.
Very flattering article on
@AndrewYang
in
@FT
! The business community who considers
@BilldeBlasio
one of worst Mayors in history is warming up to Yang. They are considering him as the likely winner & are pleased with their interactions
I am still not clear why in NYC we don't have noise meters & noise guidelines for motorcycles & muscle cars & begin to enforce noise violations. This is a major quality of life issue in this City that is totally ignored
Keep your eye on
@NYCCouncil
members who are term limited & have no other profession (can’t go back to teaching position, law practice, private business etc) their energy ,actions will be directed to “how do I stay on gravy train”.
Just saw a Marist poll with
@ericadamsfornyc
in lead & doesn’t include Asians and Staten Island. Then again
@maristpoll
is known 4 gross mistakes, in 2017 they didn’t poll my name resulting in being left out of General Election debate bc they “didn’t know” I was on Reform line
via
@nytimes
as predicted unless the
@NYCCouncil
stops
@BilldeBlasio
he will squander federal aid & leave the next Mayor in the lurch.
@AndrewYang
has rightly pointed this out on campaign trail
Mayor of NYC needs a security detail but if you are campaigning out of State for a Federal office the campaign should repay the City for cost of detail. It’s that simple
Great reception for
@AndrewYang
on Forest Avenue on Staten Island today.
@Michael_Cusick
endorsed Yang today & I joined Mike in this photo along with
@UFANYC
Staten Island trustee Eric Bischoff
My wife went to a Staten Island CVS to purchase Dove soap & had to wait 15 minutes for an employee because the soap was under lock & key. The worker explained that they have to secure it because people are stealing the soap.
Here’s the reality no matter how much rhetoric is spent on stopping the iron pipeline into NYC, it won’t happen, too many guns in US. What will mitigate the shootings is making it uncomfortable for people to carry guns & stiff sentences if you are packing a gun.
From a teacher in a NYC public school, kids are running wild, staff is afraid of students, can’t wait to leave! Unfortunately not an isolated phenomenon. Very difficult to learn in this environment, poor kids mostly impacted, parents can’t afford to send them to private schools.
One thing for sure in tonight’s debate, although
@scottmstringer
didn’t endorse
@ericadamsfornyc
as some alleged he was going to, in the last 2 debates he has been gunning for
@AndrewYang
& has not criticized front runner Adams
I am certainly not someone to advise
@ericadamsfornyc
he was elected Mayor & I lost when I ran. But my unsolicited advice is, u are making a big mistake by appointing fixers & others with questionable pedigrees to high level posts. Big red flags!
NEW:
@mayawiley
says
@KGforNYC
and
@AndrewYang
asked her to campaign with them today, but she turned them down because she thought Yang’s comments about mentally ill New Yorkers in the debate Wednesday night were highly insensitive.
Israel projects that all of its 9 million residents will be vaccinated by March! Doctors there estimate they could vaccinate & document a patient in about 7 minutes & set up an appointment system that cycled people through as efficiently as possible!
Last night’s riot in Union Square should lead to hard questions about
@NYPDnews
Intel as to why such a widely spread event on social media was not anticipated so they could have prepared to prevent it from spiraling out of control
The unnecessary roar of souped up motorcycles & cars resulting in health problems from the noise & eroding the quality of life of NYC residents is one of the areas I want to tackle if I win the 50th Council seat. It should not be tolerated
There are people out there who want to eliminate the police. I want to eliminate three quarters of the useless politicians that we are paying to screw things up.
