Wearing mamma’s skirt from the 1980s tonight.
As for the forecast...rather cloudy & largely dry over the next few days. Mild for the time of year too.
Sunday the calmer and brighter day of the weekend with more sunshine ☀️
Happy Chinese New Year 🧧 ✨
My grandparents are no longer with us, but I’m so grateful for all they taught me about Chinese traditions, food & the importance of family.
#ChineseNewYear2023
#YearOfTheRabbit
I grew up eating my grandma's delicious Chinese food. Now that she lives with me, I often cook the recipes she taught me.
To celebrate

The Tonga volcanic eruption occurred around 10,000 miles from Wales 🌋
Traces of the shockwaves were picked up at weather stations across the world.
Look at this pressure chart in Powys, you can see 2 pressure waves detected
A reminder of how our atmosphere is connected 🌏
Awkward moment last night...
There was a chance of a few showers for the Tom Jones concert, but I decided to risk it and just take sunglasses
Result = Weather forecaster got soaked!
Meanwhile, thousands came prepared with raincoats
Also, look at mum wearing a shower cap 😂
Usually people send me photos of clouds...but today Dave from Snowdonia sent in clouds & his weather boxers 🩳 A lot of love for these 😂
I may get
@DerekTheWeather
a pair 🎁 😉
Have a lovely weekend!
No new clothes challenge 2024 🛍️
My aim is to try to avoid buying clothes this year...any purchases made will be second hand 👚
I'd like to do my little bit to help look after the planet 🌍

Ever wondered what a day in the life of a weather presenter looks like on storm day?
Take a look behind the scenes with BBC Wales’ Sabrina Lee as Storm Ciarán swept across the UK

Good morning!
We’ve seen further rain, sleet & snow in the showers overnight
Ice is our main hazard this morning ⚠️
My alarm went off extra early to allow for more time for my journey (3:35am 😴) ❄️🚗
Have you ever wondered why the temperature displayed in your car or on a garden thermometer can be quite different to the temperature mentioned in TV weather forecasts? 📺
Let me introduce you to the Stevenson Screen... 🌡
Loved watching my wonderful colleague
@wynneevans
perform
@stdavidshall
A special concert with lots of giggles along the way 🎤🎶
The performance will be shown on

Howdy from Texas! 🇺🇸
We chased the clearer skies and found the perfect spot to watch the solar eclipse 🌒✨
We watched the moon pass between the earth and the sun, and witnessed a spectacular 360 degree sunset
I had such a lovely morning with
@theterrywalton
😊
Terry is a fountain of knowledge and gave me a grand tour of his allotment, whilst sharing useful tips.
I’ve been inspired to start growing my own veggies 🥔🥕🥬
Morning morning!
I show you what I can see when I’m presenting.
I don’t have a script & my director gives me timings via my earpiece
Imagine speaking and someone saying 10,9,8...in your ear 👂
Forecast is quiet over the next few days, have a lovely weekend 😃
Good morning!
I’m keeping an eye on the rain, sleet & snow today. So far, the snow has mainly been over the higher ground in north Wales
What are the weather conditions like in your area? ☔️🌨
MORNING 😃
I took a 2 week break & now I'm back to the early shift (the 3:15am alarm was a shock to the system)
We've been on a temperature rollercoaster over the last few weeks....from warm spring sunshine...to snow.
What's next? Grab your cuppa and join me on TV/radio
Hottest day ever recorded in Wales. 37.1 °C in Hawarden, Flintshire 🌡
How did you find the heat?
Is this normal? How does the heatwave compare to 1976? & Is a change on the way?

It’s St David’s day and also the start of meteorological spring 😊
I’ve just been to Cardiff market to pick up some warm fresh Welsh cakes 🏴

Coming up in the forecast... I’ll be chatting to you about higher pressure, the
@eisteddfod
in Tregaron & the possibility of a heatwave for some places
Hope you can join me later 📺
We came to see the eclipse, then went to Florida on a road trip and ended up in a tornado warning.
We received emergency alerts on our phones & the sirens were going off 🚨
Lots of hail, thunder, heavy downpours and gusty winds.
So thankful we managed to get to safety.
River levels are continuing to rise, here is a video of the River Taff.
Across Wales we currently have 15 flood warnings and 53 flood alerts in place. Further flooding and disruption likely.

Hope you’ve all had a lovely Easter weekend. I spent mine exploring Somerset 😊
On Saturday we got up to 21 °C in a few spots in Wales.
A cooler day ahead, with sunny spells, areas of cloud and a few showers...though some areas will stay dry all day.
Hi 😀
@DerekTheWeather
& I wish you a wonderful weekend
This weekend ➡️ Many of you will get to see sunny spells, largely dry conditions & lighter winds. Still very mild too.
My plan was to take a walk in the park for some fresh air in the sunshine ☀️
It’s very slippery in places ❄️ Can I manage one loop around the park without falling over? Hmm🤔
Happy St Davids Day - Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus 🏴
As it's now meteorological spring, the days will get longer and the sunshine stronger. Later this month the clocks will go forward, with the sun setting much later ☀️🕥
The clocks go forward on Sunday, meaning the evenings will be getting much lighter - even if it does mean losing an hour in bed 🕰⛅
So why do the clocks go forward? Sabrina Lee explains all

Some wet weather too ☁️☔️
That's your morning forecast, with a twist
(It should brighten up in places later this afternoon)
Happy Valentines ❤️
Today was the first time this month we hit 20C in Wales.
Some of you spotted a sun halo today - you get these when sunlight interacts with a thin layer of high level cloud made up of ice crystals ☀️
