story ‘Uganda rethinks Kenya SGR over funding gaps’ is misleading & has many inaccuracies. It’s a total misrepresentation of the outcomes of the meeting of HEs

From Busia to Kampala! The SGR team has completed setting up of Survey Control points for SGR. These Control points will ensure that a precise railway connecting from Mombasa to Kla and onwards is built! SGR required updated Survey Control Points not older than 5yrs

Valuation of affected persons on the 273km SGR Malaba-Kla Route was done in under 8 months compared to the usual 3-5yrs! We used Ugandan Valuers, Surveyors & Engineers who did the job in the fastest time possible! Saving Govt lots of money & time.
216 of those 20ft containers will be carried by one SGR train. More heavy cargo off roads increases road design life thus saving tax payers' money that goes into repairs. We have so far acquired about 100kms to construct SGR Uganda.

For the planned SGR Super Bridge over the R.Nile in Jinja, there will be no single pillar in water. This is to avoid interrupting the aquatic ecosystem. All processes will be environmentally friendly & resource-efficient thru’out SGR’s life-cycle (100yrs).

We harmonized with
@UNRA_UG
and

at Access Road. The intersection at Access Road between JICA flyover, meter Gauge Railway and SGR harmonized. Fly over was elevated higher and SGR will have separate grade crossing

Journey has been long but the railway will be built!
Let us all support!
SGR local content policy was approved. For every 10 SGR workers, 9 will be Ugandans and 1 must be an expert (foreigner or otherwise). This will empower our own people financially but more importantly in acquiring important skills.
