If the Seahawks are smart they will have the offense during player introductions this weekend. Marshawn Lynch coming out of the tunnel last will turn that stadium upside-down.
Mariners Twitter...
Opening Day: I just want to see them get better every game.
May 13: KELENIC AND GILBERT CALLED UP!
June 22: These guys are good. Might be a year ahead.
July 26: Load up for a playoff run!!!
August 10: Every year. Just painful. Why do I do this to myself?
I really don't see how anyone can be mad at the WIAA for the decision to move sports around. The other option is a MAJOR risk of cancellation. This gives the best chance for ANY sports to happen. If football stayed in the fall this year, it would be cancelled. Plain and simple.
Full ride, partial, non-scholly, PWO... D1, D2, D3, NAIA, Juco... I don't care.
Being offered a spot on a college football roster is something to be very proud of.
If you play a position other than OL or DL, I don't need to hear your opinion on Thanksgiving dinner. I'll give you a call when I have a question about skinny jeans.
George Bush loves America. That's why he said 'screw you' to the ceremonial first pitch rubber and threw it from the top of the mound like a true American.
Right down the middle, strike three, game over... America wins.
Very sad to hear about the passing of Derek Sparks.
He helped change the lives of many through his tireless work for
@CleatsV
. His vision will carry on because we will continue to fight for him.
R.I.P. Coach
HAHAHAHA
This is not only the worst name in the NHL, but it's the worst in major professional sports.
I can't stop laughing.
The fans will be Krakheads!!!
I've been asked a lot about where I stand on the NCAA paying players debate.
My official stance is this...
I'm for whatever brings back the NCAA football video game. That's all.
Favorite Big School (4A/3A) Stadium in the state...
1. Pop Keeney Stadium
2. Wildcat Stadium at Mount Si
3. Doc Harris Stadium
4. Art Crate Field
5. Civic Stadium in Bellingham
Honorable Mention: Lake Stevens, Sumner, Renton Memorial, French Field
RED PROTECTED!
A 50-19 victory over Maine in the FCS Semifinals sends Eastern Washington to the National Championship for the second time in school history!
Eag Nation, we'll see you in Frisco!

Since Paul Allen helped build Century Link Field and apparently had them design it to push noise to the field, I think a moment of silence is inappropriate.
We need to have a "Moment of Mayhem" for the guy! Everyone goes absolutely nuts for in his memory.
My list of things to do for the next two days.
1. Cry
2. Miss high school football
3. Cry
4. Go to LA for the Seahawks game
5. Miss high school football
6. Come home from LA
7. Cry
8. Eat a giant burger
9. Miss high school football
No athlete/family should feel the need to pay for recruiting services. Many have flashy names that make people believe they are helping, when in actuality your HS HC, counselor, and being proactive on your own is all you need. Spending thousands for a false sense is not needed.
Crazy to me seeing how many Husky fans are trashing Browning saying they wish they had Eason. This young man did so much for your program and all you want to do is trash him during his last game.
Game ends and ESPN was off the air really quick.
"This team wasn't supposed to win, what do you want us to talk about in the post game show?"
"Uhhh... flip over to college basketball!!!!"
Email from the Seahawks about my Season Ticket Renewal...
"Quandre Diggs, Will Dissly and Sidney Jones want you back at Lumen Field with them"
Breaking out all the big names to entice me!
It has been 1,376 days since the last high school football game was played in the Tacoma Dome and the WIAA still hasn't found a better solution than three run of the mill high school stadiums to host the state championships.
I have 377 athletes from Washington playing D1 football.
Most per HS:
Bellevue: 18
Eastside Catholic: 14
Camas: 11
O'Dea: 10
Archbishop Murphy: 9
Kamiakin: 8
Juanita, G-Prep, Bothell, Federal Way, Kentwood, Woodinville: 7
"Ryland, how can I get colleges to notice me?"
1. Good GPA
2. Good Film
3. Be proactive in your own recruiting. Don't wait for your HS coach to do it for you. He can be/should be a good resource for you, but don't rely only on him.
4. Don't use SZN. It isn't a word.
This is Allan Glenn. Tonight was his final game as an official. As long as I've been going to these games, Allan has always been there. I truly believe he is the finest Umpire our state has ever seen. I'm really glad today worked out the way it did and I ended up at Bellevue.
I can't get on board with the idea that Seahawks fans should root for the 49ers today because it "makes us look better".
I would NEVER root for my rival to win a championship, and I can GUARANTEE you they wouldn't root for us because we are in the same division.
GO CHIEFS!
Seattle (Wash.) O'Dea OL makes his commitment. Love this pickup for the Huskies. There's so much mean and nastiness in this young man. Brings a different type of attitude to the offensive line -
Deeply... DEEPLY saddened to hear of Kris Brannon's passing.
Kris was one of the nicest, most genuine human beings I've ever met. I first got to know him at Thunderbirds games. Eventually I really got to know him more at Tacoma Rainiers games...cont
My last 11 text messages have been responding to people asking where they will be seeded. I can't even get a "Good morning."
And why doesn't anyone have a sense of humor in the morning?
"In the top 16" is funny.
Eastern Washington started a full Washington offensive line this week against Tennessee State...
Luke Dahlgren (Forks)
Brenden Rivera (Gig Harbor)
Wyatt Musser (Kamiakin)
Wyatt Hansen (Kentwood)
Seth Carnahan (Sumner)
He wanted the win as much as we did, because he was a fan as much as we are. His leadership brought the Seahawks to new heights.
Forever the leader of the 12th Man in Seattle.
Thank you, Mr.
@PaulGAllen
. Thank you!
I'm watching Nebraska and Iowa wrestling on the Big Ten Network. They are not allowing the wrestlers to shake hands before the match.
Obviously that will help stop the spread of Covid, but the whole wrestling part is a perfectly fine.
Hockinson WR Sawyer Racnelli needs five receptions this weekend to become the 5th player in state history to have 100 receptions in a season.
Racanelli's 1,607 receiving yards give him 4,463 for his career. Needs 714 to reach Cody Bruns (Prosser) 5,177 for career receiving yards
Legendary Meridian football coach Bob Ames has announced his retirement. Ames coached 46 seasons with a 332-168 record, three State Titles (1999, 2003, 2006) and 18 League Championships. He is the state's 3rd winningest head coach behind Sid Otton (394) and Monte Kohler (347).
Jaguars just drafted a D3 player that played 3A football in Oregon, equivalent to 1A in Washington.
Let's do it again...
IF YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH, THEY WILL FIND YOU!
Montana State beats defending FCS Champion Sam Houston 42-19. The Bobcats will host South Dakota State next weekend in Bozeman.
The Bobcats have 12 former Washington prep athletes.
Stats don't get you recruited. They might get you noticed, but film gets you recruited.
Leading the state in a statistical category doesn't mean your recruitable. You could throw for 5,000 yards, but if you don't meet what a college is looking for, they're not spending money.
If you think colleges are just going to find you or your film, you are very wrong. You need to be emailing coaches your film. If you need a template, email me. Other than that, my best advice... Be realistic.
I currently have four goals in life...
1. Help as many athletes as possibly get into college.
2. Get to 70 HS games in one season.
3. Buy a house.
4. Rent the house to someone and move into a room at Pop Keeney.
My dad just told me he thinks MOD Pizza is "bland."
He followed that up by saying he thinks Little Caesars is the "best pizza around Kirkland."
Little Caesars is like cardboard.
I'm gonna need to go on Maury Povich and get a paternity test. This dude can't be my dad.
Well, guess I can officially announce it.
I am extremely proud to be part of all three playoff committees. This is something the state BADLY needs and I expect the athletes, coaches and fans will see a massive difference between past brackets and what we come up with now.
Also of note,
@RylandSpencer
of Cascadia Preps is on all three committies, as is the ScoreCzar, Scott Odiorne. ... Matthew Evans of Evans Rankings is on the 1B/2B committee. ... So statewide coverage, plus the use of computers. Looks like a great start.
If Woodinville beats Kennedy Catholic, and we end up with an all Kingco semifinal, I will be putting up a tent in the media parking lot tonight and staying the week.
Athletes should build relationships with ANY college coach recruiting them. No matter the size, you never know where they will be when you are ready to sign.
Former NAIA coach has moved to D2 and wants to recruit the PNW.
Who he will talk to first?
Those who talked to him.
Baker Mayfield was called off the field by the team when autographs were supposed to be over. He refused and signed and took selfies with every soldier remaining on the field.
#Browns
This is a new one. Head coach advocating for an athlete that is transferring away from his school. Coach Ford doesn't use the same coaching manual as everyone else, and that's why so many athletes want to follow his vision. I love this kind of stuff.
This kid is one of the BEST team mates I’ve ever coached. He didnt leave us because he wanted to, he had some other factors he couldn’t control. Anyone lookin for a transfer RB should swoop this guy immediately! Work ethic, toughness, and energy!!!
Best of luck to everyone participating in the Mat Classic this weekend in the Tacoma Dome!!!
I truly believe the Mat Classic is the best sporting event this state has to offer.
No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game - but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome ... which suddenly seems so irrelevant.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have 13 total OL on their roster. Here is a breakdown by college level of play.
FBS - 5
FCS - 5
D2 - 2
D3 - 1
At the moment they are playing L-R...
FBS, D3, D2, FCS, FBS
"Hoffman says the bigger venues, while they would provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience, they can feel empty if 3,500 people attend as opposed to the tens of thousands."
Newsflash... Nobody gives a shit about that. They want to play in the big stadium!
After the All-Star Break, the Mariners play 69 games. 44 against teams with a losing record, 25 against a winning record.
Sep. 14 vs San Diego (51-41) is the last time they face a team that currently has a winning record. Final 20 are against LAA, OAK, KC, TEX, OAK, DET.
