My wife and personal hero, @sara__stock , gave birth to our baby girl yesterday and I’ve been on a very sleepy cloud 9 since. There were many “I can’t do this!” and “Nothing’s happening!” but it was and she could 🤣 I’m the most appreciative husband in the world. I love you both!

After a game one one time a fan approached me with my own bat and asked me to sign it. Incredulously I asked him how he got my bat. He said my teammate traded it to him for some baseball cards (of himself). Months later that teammate was released for rampant stealing.

MLB players currently accept less pay than they’re worth for their milb years & the first 7+ of their big league careers. This helps poorer teams compete with richer teams. Those “poorer” teams are not trying to compete and baseball is worse because of it. This is an owner issue.

10 years ago Jason Isringhausen spoke to all the Cardinals’ minor league pitchers and he told us his approach to closing a ballgame is that he has 3 open bases to strikeout 3 batters. Joe Kelly woulda been at that meeting too. It worked!

I’ve read articles that playfully argue that a batter may be better off by never swinging. An MLB pitcher would instantly recognize that and do exactly what Milner does here and just start piping fastballs.
