Chris Kirk's membership status is at stake today.
Through 54 holes, he's in a 5-way T4 at 15-under, three shots off the lead.
It's plenty good enough to secure conditional status for the remainder of the season, so the battle is to keep it floored to retain status.

Gamers: With decent scoring conditions on Thursday and fresher winds on Friday, the Pebble-Spy rotation could benefit. Pebble is easier than Spy in benign weather, but it's often harder in the wind.
R2 could be a push and there always are exceptions, but a PB-SH stack has merit.

R1 scoring →
@attproam
70.256 = Pebble (-1.744)
72.397 = Spy (+0.397)
• Overnight rain will soften both courses for R2, but winds will intensify considerably, anyway. This is how Pebble fights back. Expect a smaller margin if not a (mild) flip in favor of Spy.
Gamers: Bad weather that's been forecast might hold off until after R1. That means that Thursday's late wavers *will* play in the strongest winds.
Friday = nice but moderately breezy all day.
Although the morning waves should score better each day, the early-late is the ticket.
