Update on LLs and ARAM - we're putting any changes on hold for now. Based off your feedback we agree our current approach isn't hitting the mark. Will reassess and get back to you folks with an alternative or modified approach for further discussion.

TLDR - trying a test where we turn off All Chat (team chat still exists of course). Test is driven by rate of negative interactions versus positive
Will see what people think of the experience with it off, assess whether to keep it off or re-enable.
Got back to work last week after a truly wonderful trip (especially getting married, pic related!) in February. Still catching up on everything right now, looks like it was a pretty busy month!

Regarding tokens from free missions for the LoL Worlds event - there are a few more coming. We haven't cut the rate down to 295, we just haven't revealed all the token missions yet, given the remainder are tied to stuff that's not live yet.

For anyone wondering why hovering someone on your friends list hasn't been working sometimes this patch that's something we've done deliberately at peak server times. Turning off non essential functionality like that lets us get more people into games when demand is really high.

There’s been some chatter recently about the development team for Wild Rift, so I wanted to offer some visibility into how the team’s been evolving behind the scenes.
Excited to be able to share that I'm taking on the role of Design Director on League of Legends. I'll still be involved with gameplay design, and will certainly keep talking about our thoughts on it too. Will be more involved in other design work as well though.
We're currently looking for a new Lead Champion Designer for LoL!
Key qualifications
Min 4+ years design experience
Experience managing others/leading teams
Strong LoL/other MOBA understanding

Consensus at this point is that the screen tint for the Infernal rift is too dominant. We'll be toning it down next patch. Should have a version on PBE next update, feedback on it much appreciated
Planning on changing Nami ult so it doesn't use mini map targeting (no more backward waves because your cursor clipped the minimap slightly). Anyone got thoughts on other abilities that have minimap casting and shouldn't or don't and should?
Nexus Blitz players - we’ve addressed an MMR issue that was present for Nexus Blitz day 1. Matches going forwards should be better matched and therefore feel fairer as a result

We're looking for a Creative Director for LoL at the moment! This is a role really focused on aesthetics, storytelling/worldbuilding within the broader Runeterra IP and brand/style.
For anyone wondering we're still removing Spear of Shojin, Zz'Rot Portal, Ohmwrecker and Raptor Cloak in preseason. They're just cropping up temporarily on PBE as some files get moved around at present.
Very excited about the new teams we’ll have joining the existing teams on League and TFT as a result of this! Should let us do some additional stuff once they’re ramped up :)

Some late additional Zoe changes in 8.4:
P ratio to 0.325 was 0.25
Q damage 45-105+0.2 was 45-165+0.4
W AP ratio to 0.6 was 0.4
W MS 30-70% was 10-70%
+34 base HP and +2 base AD
Expect 8.4 leaves her quite weak. Would rather risk overnerfing and fix after at this point though.
For anyone like me who didn't realize at first - if you want your LoL friends list to go back to sorting people by category instead of by game there's an option for that in the settings menu for it

They will. Nothing that would have been in 13.2 will be cancelled, we might just have to move things that can't be hotfixed (e.g. art changes) to a later date instead
Additionally, players in SEA will now be able to link their Amazon accounts and claim Prime Gaming capsules for the first time. We’ll likely have some more changes to the League capsules later this year, but we’ll keep you posted 3/3

We're adding a new repeatable mission that gives a lot of event points for games played. Short version is our initial tuning completely missed the mark and, while this isn't the most elegant solve, it's the one we can do quickest, letting a lot more people experience that content
Aiming to get an Aatrox hotfix buff out soon. Probably later today, possibly tomorrow. Not 100% yet, likely includes a bit of E range, E AA reset, some Q damage.

Yeah, I think that change has landed really well. Was an easier thing to do for TFT given it's a solo game so no getting matched with team mates with a major disconnect between MMR and displayed rank to deal with. Plus shorter seasons leads to less disconnect.
Delaying today's post to tomorrow. Want to cover about how in 8.13 we'll be nerfing gold funneling (mid/jungle) and buffing some ADCs. Need to sort out a few more details today first though before talking through them.

Ok, follow up minimap targeting question for Ashe, Ezreal, Draven, Jinx players. How often do you use your ult on the minimap deliberately versus accidentally? If you play with locked camera some or all of the time would be great to know that too.
Looks like a bunch of Heimerdinger bugs got introduced with 8.24, including one where his E stun duration's extremely short. We're working on a hotfix at the moment, probably out later today or sometime tomorrow.
No post today, back on Friday. Decided to skip today thinking the champion roadmap would be out and made sense to space things out a bit. Turns out it's not today....oops.

Wild Rift is our only mobile-exclusive game. As such, we’ve been seeking out highly experienced mobile developers because that’s not a skillset Riot’s historically had—especially when you compare it to our experience in PC development.

We’re expecting some internal applicants and very possible the successful candidate is already at Riot. Given how important this role is though want to also check who else is out there too :)
Looks like we'll be moving the first round of loading screen changes to 9.3 instead of 9.2. Ran into some issues late in the piece, spending a bit more time addressing those as a result before shipping.
Looks like we missed in the in patch notes, but as of patch 8.11 there's now an option (Game part of the Options menu) to treat 'Target Champion only' as a toggle rather than a key you have to hold down constantly.
As part of that process, we’ve identified that our Riot Shanghai office is a great location for new hires for Wild Rift, given how strong the talent market for mobile devs is in Shanghai.
