At 0822 on 22 Sep 1989 an IRA bomb exploded at the Royal Marines School of Music in Deal, Kent. It killed 11 Royal Marines Musicians. We will never forget the horrific events of that day, those lost, or those still bearing physical and mental scars. We will remember them.

This morning Cpl Bug Morris and L/Cpl Bug Crowe of RM Band Portsmouth, sounded The Last Post at the Operation Frankton Memorial in Birkenhead. Unveiled in 2012 the memorial commemorates local Cockleshell Hero; Cpl Albert Laver (22) who was fatally shot during the operation.
