@ArtyBagger They will be fine. As other have mentioned it will function for days with heating on. The petrol cars will need refuelled before the EV’s. Our EV managed just fine crossing Antarctica during this last few weeks in -43 (with wind chill) & heating on 👌🏻

At the Geographic South Pole, the 2023 marker is hugely fitting for our expedition. It’s a complete coincidence the marker at the Amundsen Scott base have commemorated Sir Edmund Hilary for being the first person in history to take a vehicle to the South Pole back in 1958 😀👏🏻

People often ask “But what happens when you’re driving a long distance and need to charge?” I simply stop at one of the many charging locations in the U.K. Sorry I would have pointed out some specific towns, but I can’t actually see the U.K. for all the charging locations

Ruta 40 Argentina 🇦🇷 ❤️ In just a couple of days we will cross the border again into Chile & arrive in Punta Arenas, completing leg 2 of the expedition in our Ariya EV. Then we head into Antarctica for leg 3 & definitely living on the edge! #poletopoleev

Renewable energy + EV = two parts of the solution. This energy site has 45 x 2MW wind & 60MW of solar & it is one of many sites in Chile. In 2022 energy from renewable sources accounted for 27.5% of Chile’s electricity. It over took coal for first time which is fantastic news.
