If you are looking to find my socials, support the channel and the content that I make, or just get more involved with me shouting about card games and cum, I now have an All-In-One link page:
Raul Julia was dealing with terminal stomach cancer whilst filming the Street Fighter movie, and died shortly after. He's the best thing about the movie. He did interviews saying he took the role in spite of his health because his kids loved Street Fighter II.
What a legend.
Introducing the world to the latest addition to my family - Clementine joined us yesterday.
She's beautiful, healthy, and mother is in good shape too!
Content will continue, but be a little sporadic as we adjust.
A reminder: none of the people losing their jobs today from within Hasbro or Wizards of the Coast were responsible for the $3.5 million collar loss mentioned below.
Those decisions were made by people making $5 million dollars a year, who will not see pay cuts this year.
I both can and cannot believe the racism I am reading in the YouTube stream chat for Magic's LOTR reveals.
If you find the idea that Aragorn is black to be upsetting, you need to re-examine your life.
On the left, a $3 version of Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, one of my favourite Magic cards of all time.
A format staple across most places she can be played - a sought after card.
On the right, an $80 promo version.
The cost of MTG should be in the cosmetic, not the functional.
@CosmonautMarcus
Reading some of these replies, I feel like I'm on fucking crazy pills.
Its very obvious to anyone paying attention that there is something not quite right about Miguel's story.
He's lying.
"Commander Masters prices are justified because card prices are expensive and stuff. You can't put expensive cards in $4 boosters!"
the absolute brain rot
I think stepping away to play other games really gives you perspective on how absolutely bolloxe MTG pricing is.
I dont understand how Magic players and Yugioh players are upset by this.
OP has a point - games always benefit from not gatekeeping the tools to play.
Please let this art be on a strong and playable MTG card. I don't want to draft it once and never see it again.
It is PHENOMENAL.
The Mirran resistance sacrifice everything to get Wrenn to the Realm Tree/Breaker.
I still don't understand how people unironically believe "go woke go broke".
No factual evidence, just the bit they remember from watching some ostracised comic nerd rant a out women and pronouns in a video game.
It's because it rhymes isn't it?
@RealLonesamurai
@wattanokomi
@warhammer
@Santiago1692510
Well they better say bye to the whole fanbase cause everyone is leaving now and 40k might die if they don't take it back so either they take back the dumb shit they say or they get shut down like every other company who tried to appeal to the woke minority.
Hasbro making WotC staff redundant when they bring record profits, is awful.
My heart goes out to those affected, especially when doing this in the holiday season is especially cruel.
I assume CEO Chris Cox's salary won't take a hit.
People are expendable for riding profits.
This year, I am going to Halloween as the sexualized embodiment of dying alone and unfulfilled - no lasting legacy, no great work, nothing to be remembered for - all the while facing the distinct possibility that when we pass, we simply cease to be, our consciousness lost.
@_Chop5
Dude - set up an instagram, and post this shit. People love to follow this stuff - much better for growing exposure/customer base than Twitter. Good luck.
For what i think is thefirst time ever, Wizards of the Coast just got community noted
We've seen plenty of people accuse people wrongfully of using AI art, so I'm also less harsh than others with these statements - but I just dont see how this isnt AI generated at least in part
Normalise losing, and being OK with it, and learning from it.
From League of Legends, to Magic, to Warhammer, to Smash Bros, to any board game.
Its actually OK to lose if it offers fun experiences along the way and opportunities for growth.
Lands as a resource system brings so much to Magic that other card games wish they could have.
It's wildly simplistic to observe "sometimes you flood" without actually taking into account, fixing, resource denial, utility lands, risk/reward, mulligan decisions.
Factually correct take
The main thing card games have done in the years since MTG came out is fixed the issue that is the mana system.
Lands just suck. Awful game design.
I'm sorry, but having every known bad guy in Thunder Junction is dumb. It makes it feel like a novelty cowboy hat themed Commander Legends.
I liked the idea of Omenpaths for story telling - but 100% fan service, every card and every legendary, all the time?
Little life and channel update here.
I am going to be a father.
Full details in the video below.
Tweets below include links to Patreon and the Baby Wishlist if you want to help out.
Thanks for all the support over the years, and I look forward to the journey ahead.
My theory. The Phyrexians are going to win. Completion is MTG's "the Snap" and it will eventually be undone via time travel hijinks. This time travel will cause a new mending where old characters lose their spark - allowing for a refresh and reset for the staple of walkers.
I was holding my two year old daughter on a walk moments ago and for the first time out of nowhere she said,
“Land destruction is a valid strategy.”
I started to quietly tear up. She couldn’t see my face and I didn’t make a sound, but she said,
"Armageddon lol.”
Lae'zel is the RPG party member equivalent of "the show gets really good after season 4".
I'm glad she has an arc, but im not putting up with her shit for 10 hours for her to eventually maybe stop being an ass.
Nothing justifies £80 precons. Nothing.
The existence of a secondary market and sought after cards does not mean the company that makes the game gets to just ask stupid fucking prices.
Say no, like we did for Magic 30. Put your foot down.
The dude could have stolen the Aftermath boosters directly from the warehouse for all I care (this is NOT what happened) - I would still be opposed to corporate sanctioned private security firms retrieving the product.
Be honest with yourself - you aren't throwing The One of One Ring into a volcano, you are taking the money and living an incredibly comfortable life with it.
And that's ok.
The idea that any video game, table top game or hobby would require you to spend hundreds of pounds (several hundred dollars) every single expansion, every month or two to keep up, to get absolutely nothing of real world value is absurd.
MTG players have Stockholm Syndrome.
Hot take: I actually enjoy losing games of Commander.
Getting super far ahead and becoming the villain and being toppled is such a fun narrative.
Be the Arch Enemy, and revel in it.
Already seeing people claiming we need to gatekeep Magic from those entering due to mainstream appeal that Marvel will bring.
No we don't.
Shut the fuck up.
Don't be a bellend.
I think its diabolical that the vast majority of voices are just going to quietly ignore the absolutely hideous prices for Commander Masters.
We will hype the previews, get excited about new art and absolutely fail to acknowledge how absolutely absurd Magic's pricing is getting.
Look, I dont want to start a witch hunt, but this looks very AI generated kn minor details, with some human photoshopping over the top.
Wizards of the Coast need to stop hiring the PR/artist team making these - this is the second time it's happened.
Wait, Wizards are claiming these new £80 precons are NOT PREMIUM because they never said they were.
Please. Stop. I want off the ride.
Is £80 the new normal?
Is Premium going to be more expensive?
Is this just semantic gymnastics that is backfiring?
Am I missing something? $30 dollars to Wizards of the Coast, and $30 to Extra Life? So they make... the normal profit on a Secret Lair?
If I sold t-shirts as part of my charity drive this year and kept 50% of the sale price, people would rightfully call me out on it
What gives?
Retcons aren't inherently bad; and are often necessary.
We need to strive to equip people with the tools to discuss media and narrativr in a more indepth way.
Simply reading a wiki page and believing this is some immovable and unchangeable canon is intellectually bankrupt.
My favourite thing about Baldur's Gate 3 is that I bought it, and there are no DLC purchases hidden within, no cosmetic cash shop - it's all just there, in the game, like it should be.
Oh and it's not broken as shit. Refreshing, in many ways.
Joking with my wife about what we will one day call our children.
Brimaz? Nope.
Elspeth? Nope.
Mangara? Nope.
"Oko?" I ask, the least serious of my suggestions. She pauses, hesitation tells me she doesnt hate it. Fuck.
Oko is everywhere. Every facet of my life. Please. Stop.
So Hasbro actually deleted the tweet referencing a desire to increase WotC profitability by 50% over three years. It was tweeted the same day that stock prices dropped significantly.
This is funny.
Lord of the Rings should be a Masters set that is COMPLETELY alternative art/skins/renames. No mechanically unique shit - no reason a Magic player has to play with Frodo in their deck if they don't want.
Sol Ring - the One Ring.
Grisselbrand - Sarumon
Uro - Frodo
Shit like that
When did we start acting like wrath effects are bad in Commander, or only ok if they preceed a combo kill?
Minimum, every deck should play 2 wraths and reset the board when others are wildly ahead.
With Wizards creating glorified "official proxies" and more and more MTG cards that look nothing like a conventional MTG card - they now start to Cease and Desist services that allows you to make your own cards.
I fear this but the begining.
Two weeks ago, I received a cease and desist for Card Conjurer.
Today, I’m taking it down.
I wish there were another way. I tried everything I could. The fact is, Wizards wants it down, and so I must comply.
Please read this thread for the whole story.
Yeah. You are right. Magic the Gathering should have a real time wrestling mode.
Warhammer 40k should have an alternative real time action figure mode.
Civ 6, but everyone just plays in real time, all the time.
Of course.
"Gender critical" is just soft speak for bigot. You arent welcome in my community, on my timeline, or in my mentions. Piss off.
Solidarity for those still having to deal with that fucking author on your timeline every week.
Wait. Wait. Wait.
Brothers War Jump Start and Jump Start 2022 are actually different?
Did we just release a set then begin previews for another, different product, that has practically the same name?
If I'm confused, the general consumer must have no idea whats going on?
The real danger when it comes to the gamergate grifters co-opting this stuff is that it's an opening of the funnel.
The average disenfranchised Warhammer player seeking escapism may be turned off by overtly racist stuff for example. But if they gently onboard them with 1/thread
you probably missed it alongside all the stuff that, y'know, matters, but this week Games Workshop revealed that there are Girls in a part of Warhammer where previously Girls had not officially been. the people trying to do Gamergate 2 and a bunch of other Nazis are livid
PSA to other fandoms: Warhammer 40k has a problem atm. There are groups and communities and creators who are promoting the idea that Gatekeeping is good. That it keeps the hobby pure. That it keeps... well, the "other" out. It's a dog whistle.
Stamp this shit out.
Genuinely shocked and angry about Noah Bradley - more so at the reaction
If someone admits they are a sexual abuser or a rapist, that doesnt undo the harm they have caused - dont pat em on the fucking back for the admission
He can fuck off and find redemption elsewhere
If this is real WotC employees, it's brave and I stand 100% in support.
The replies are pretty hideous.
What is going on right now is disgusting.
We can "keep politics out of our games" when we stop having women and marginalised people's rights decimated by people in power.
We, as employees of Wizards of the Coast, are frustrated, disappointed, and completely dissatisfied with Hasbro’s out of touch, tone-deaf, and lackluster response to Friday’s Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade. (1/11)
#wotcstaff
Can't believe I have to say this AGAIN.
You CANNOT respect the opinions and biefs of fascists and literal fucking Nazis.
Their whole shtick is violence towards the "other", and domination through violence.
Deserve no respect. That kind of attitude allowed them to win before 1/
You ramp in EDH doesn't have to cost 2 mana.
Its a restrictive mentality that ignores the added benefits of cards like Commander's Sphere, Harrow and Lantern.
You arent playing on the EDH Pro Tour.
You probably arent playing CEDH.
You can play 3 mana ramp spells and rocks. 🙂
I revealed my age on stream last night. For the longest time I've been joking that I'm "only 21". That joke will probably continue on the channel because its fun.
Folks, I'm 32. I'm being open about it because I hate all these "your life is made up in your 20s" posts. 1/2
Her arms were turned into fucking swords for christs sake.
I felt like killing Nahiri off was a waste of a cool antagonist/anti-hero.
But phyrexianising and then unphyrexianising her feels somehow cheaper.
I dislike this.
Remember when they printed Doubling Season in an upcoming set and everyone got excited? Then before that set even came out they previewed that they are printing it again in the very next set? 😂

Outside of agreed CEDH, Commander having prizes that promote winning will devolve your local metagame into a situation where less experienced and newer players are miserable.
Stop setting prizes for winning casual commander games. It does nothing but make the game worse.
Redesigns happen, and cultural sensitivity is cool. Steps to remove ethnocentric tropes are good.
I wish these changes came with commentary. To the uninitiated some of it seems random, arbitrary or perhaps performative.
Helping the next generation understand is cool, actually.
DID YOU KNOW: The Welcome Booster (not randomised, a selection of cards handed out in a packet to new players) has a Siege Rhino in it.
In theory, every new player should be given a Siege Rhino.
I'm not doing so good.
Many, many things pressing down on me and I am not coping very well.
For that reason, I won't be live tonight, and will probably stream later in the week. I need to decompress, I need to relax.
Still have YT vids coming out. Be good to one another.
This take sucks.
People having their deck banned out from under them and being unable to afford a different deck absolutely sucks. It's a bug, and we should work towards empathy and solutions.
We should not celebrate financial gatekeeping of hobbies and competitive spaces.
I still find this mind set to be old & out dated held by people who can't adapt.
if 24 hours kills your tourney performance then you weren't going to win.
if a ban forces you to buy a new deck that you can't afford, you shouldn't play magic in a competative way.
"Maybe this product isn't for you" as this product affects five of the formats you have an interest in
Maybe this products not for you, as it moves its way across all legal Arena constructed queues
MAYBE THIS PRODUCTS NOT FOR YOU as it enters your home and shits on your carpet
If Wizards of the Coast changed the rules of Evoke to protect Fury and Friends instead of banning MH2 Mythics, I wpuld fucking riot.
What is MTG Twitter smoking tonight?
Companion was a unique case, let's not encourage them to eratta a whole mechanic again. Behave.
