Before some of you type off a rambling email to your club manager about discounting your membership or skipping the monthly payment because of the forced closure.. keep in mind some may have lost their job. Do your part and take the hit if you can afford to do so. Play your part.
GUI need to regcognise that golf managers around the country need to know where they stand immediately.
There’s the following to consider:
•bar and catering staff
•greens-keepers and course staff
•administrators
•sales/marketing staff
•domestic golfers/visitors
•Pros
Reliably informed that you can play Royal County Down this summer for a reasonable rate (very reasonable in my opinion) - The GUI rate is £70 and can be used Monday, Tuesday and Friday from May until August after 4pm.
The GUI is expected to announce a 3 stage return to golf starting on 18th May. Reopening in line with advice on travel distance limits and social distancing. Open fairways for all not anticipated to commence until the end of June. More as we get it..
Covid-19: Irish golf courses endure longest closures in the world

@NewlandsGC1910
this afternoon. Pleasantly surprised by this course. Friday Open off the Blues, tough but fair. Tee to green course conditioning is superb. Well worth a visit, a snip at €25. Just one of many great course close to Dublin City.
A huge endorsement that so many of the top golfers in the world and headed straight to the links (Adam Scott is at Waterville, Scheffler at Ballybunion, any other sightings??) the island is blessed to have some of the greatest Links in the world.. we should showcase them more..
Mullingar GC is without a shadow of a doubt one of the best parkland courses in Ireland. It should be on every golfers list of places to play. Thank you to Ruth and her colleagues for the day.

A brilliant course.
Great to hear lots of accents down from the North today for the open.
The only place for winter golf.
Phase 2 of GUI roadmap needs to be amended urgently to allow *all* golf clubs to take green fees from visitors/societies and full open golf should resume in view of Government announcement this lunchtime.

@CorballisLinks

Take a divot bag when you visit and replace your sod, fix your pitchmark wherever you go. It's courtesy.
