We are delighted for our General Manager, David O’Donovan who recently picked up the award for Connacht Manager of the year from the Golfers Guide to Ireland.
Today we had our Greenkeepers revenge competition which always proves very popular with our members. The timesheet was full and everyone had a super days fun.
So today we started the Wehrly Brothers Sponsored winter league which is arguably the largest in the country with 160 players. David Cunningham has never missed one in it’s 55 year history and is playing as well as ever.
Manager of the Year. Thanks to Paddy Mc Carthy

it’s always nice to receive an award but this one is for all the Team at County Sligo Golf Club for all their hard work during a difficult 2020.
Many years ago, members from our club and
@StrandhillGC
organised the famous ‘Coast to Coast’ challenge which was a highlight for many a golfing calendar. Well a few members tried to reenact it again and here’s the proof.

So here’s a story, pictured here is Gerard Finnegan one of our green keepers and senior cup panelist. Having finished work this morning which included setting the pins, he entered the competition and on the 4th hit a sweet 9 iron and in it went.

We are over the moon to confirm that we are the men’s AIG senior cup Connacht champions. That’s now both our men and ladies with the Connacht title. The captain of the men’s team has 2 daughters on the ladies team.
This is Oonagh McDermott, secretary of Connacht Golf who has been here all day assisting every competitor on the first tee. She certainly deserves a glass of something nice. Thanks for everything Oonagh
