I want to start a list w names of UK based Black Historians working on the history of slavery. I do appreciate that many scholars adopt a multidisciplinary approach to do their research but I'd like to have a list of people whose primary disciple is History.

Greyish sky, time to harvest a few veggies. Too many potatoes. Will donate next batches. Today having first taste of garlic as well. Something incredibly satisfying in watching vegetables grow, harvesting and tasting them. YumπŸ˜‹πŸŒ±

I feel like sharing something v personal bc we talk abt suicide but rarely abt what happens 2those who stay. 'Thanks mummy for living & being my mummy'. Words fr my 8yro 1hour ago. Came out while I was watching him play. He won't know yet how much these words mean to me.

Would you call a plumber you've never met and ask them to spend an hour explaining how plumbing works all that totally unpaid? Well, guess what? My time is valuable too. This idea that academics don't work their socks off & are just sitting there ready to impart knowledge is wild

Our gorgeous young mum is awake (The fashionista in her would tell me off if I shared a photo of her in hospital gown). Her little baby girl & her still in intensive care. Problem with my niece's heart. Your thoughts, prayers & good vibes are working. Thank you very much. ❀️

Baby in intensive care unit. New num is in coma. We are all beside ourselves. Sister asked us 4 siblings to stay put and not flog to Saint Etienne but just pray. F***ing Eclampsia. So here I am cursing & praying. To be reminded women still die in childbirth is like a gut punch.

Would be nice if some white male prof. Could refrain fr copying my work w/ o citing me. Barely changing title of my talks & making content your own doesn't sit well with your listeners who do know my work. Just saying ... I won't name & shame but you know who you are. Tara 😘

Ian Wright: reading his tweet shook me. Then I remembered African American novelist Richard Wright'd words about racism not being a black but a white problem.

Now on my way to Vienna. Reflecting on what a White woman, educated & a former teacher said about my book at last night's event: 'we need to focus on our own history 1st. We still have so much to learn about our own history. We don't hav time to learn abt your history'.

I really don't like to expose people & yet again will give someone a chance to redeem themselves by doing the right thing but why do some white people think it's ok to pay the white speaker who was to speak alongside me
