“Modernism, which denies and abolishes every difference, cannot rest until it has made woman man and man woman, and, putting every distinction on a common level, kills life by placing it under the ban of uniformity.”

I will not back down!!!!
As a Follower of Christ, I will advocate for the building of Christ’s Kingdom through following His example of…

This is a snippet from one of my favorite interviews (one I’ve rewatched many times because of how recalibrating it is).
Singing the Psalms, straight from the Text, really is one of the most fruitful and power works that we can labor towards together in our time as the Church.

It exposes much of what’s behind the argument “It’s not what you’re saying, but how you’re saying it”.

As many of you have become aware, last week a display was erected at the Iowa Capitol by the Satanic Temple of Iowa. As I have responded to concerns from Iowans about the display, I wanted to share with you how the display came to be and my response.

I think it’s something like, “Jesus didn’t just kick out his heretical friends, but let them stick around.”
Pretty bad take if that’s the true and I’m not sure how good of a point it is when you’re justify your friend’s unbiblical positions by comparing him to Judas.

Topographical maps show difference in elevation. Everything on the map is technically “elevation”, but not everything is the same elevation.
So it is with sin. All sin is worth of God’s righteous wrath, but not all sin is the same.
That’s what I’ve said to explain this before.

I think this has been one of the great “awakenings” of the last decade or so.
Many people have realized you can’t take God’s blessings and divorce Him from them. You can’t have the kingdom without the King. 1/

Imagine someone thinking they have a right judgment of good/bad songs and yet, by that very standard, the perfect songs of the Psalms would themselves be condemned and by extension the Person who wrote them.
No need to imagine.

The "theme"/idea that JBJ is getting at is us maturing through history; primordial vs eschatological.
Adam and Eve are put in the garden with everything already cultivated (primordial), but "donuts" are something they'll “mature into” through time/history (eschatological).

The main problem with this hermeneutic is you’re drawing conclusions by what seemingly isn’t there and not seeing the abundance of what is.
When God condemns LGBT+, He does so out of first creating, honoring, and upholding the imago dei, and those passages are in abundance.
