RTA is waiving transit fares for Louisiana Primary Election Day tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023. Riders can ride at no charge on all RTA buses, streetcars, and ferries. There is no need to prove your voter registration to enjoy the free ride.
The Algiers Point Ferry will resume service today with the charter boat, Margaret Lab. For Sun only, ferry service will run every 30 mins (:00 & :30). Regular ferry service will begin Mon at 6 am. For schedule & fare info, visit .

Mixing the old with the new! Streetcars get a new paint job every 7 years with touch ups from time to time. The first photo is a Perley A. Thomas car mid-paint job. The second photo is a completed paint job. It takes about two weeks to paint one streetcar.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept 4, the RTA will operate bus, streetcar, & ferry service as weather conditions permit. If sustained wind speeds reach 35 miles per hour, bus & streetcar service will be suspended. Ferry service will operate unless suspended by U.S. Coast Guard.

RTA is waiving transit fares for Claudette Colvin Day, Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023. Riders can ride at no charge on all RTA buses, streetcars, and ferries. Join us as we celebrate the birthday of civil rights pioneer Claudette Colvin.
On this day, 14 years ago, the Canal Streetcar reopened. The line had been replaced by buses in the 1960's. About 3 million people ride the Canal Streetcar each year!

), and RTA Commissioners met in Palmer Park this morning to announce the Regional Ride which allows riders to use RTA and JeT lines with one fare!
We have suspended all streetcar service on all streetcar lines due to frozen precipitation on the power lines. We have replaced streetcar service on Canal Street, Rampart-St. Claude, and St. Charles with limited bus service until conditions improve.
As our passengers begin traveling to holiday festivities, this is a reminder that masks are required on

We will be celebrating the completion of the Cemeteries Transit Center on Friday morning (January 5th) at 10am at the intersection of City Park Avenue and Canal Boulevard. Streetcars and buses will begin service into the new transit center on Sunday, January 7th.

The Canal Streetcar Lines are running normally from Harrah's to Cemeteries (47) & City Park (48). There is no streetcar service on the Riverfront due to closed flood gates. The Rampart-St. Claude Streetcar Line is running normally. Both the ferries are running normally.
It's Carnival Time! The Phunny Phorty Phellows kicked off Carnival season right with a decorated St. Charles Streetcar this evening! Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Buses are operating normally this morning. Streetcars continue to be serviced by buses. Ferry service has been replaced by bus service. Services will continue to be provided as weather permits.
On Sun, Dec 22, at 5 am, streetcar service will be restored to sections of the streetcar lines. The 47 - Canal/Cemeteries line will provide service from the Cemeteries to the UPT via Loyola Ave. The 2 - Riverfront will provide service from French Market to Canal & Carondelet.

In observance of New Year's Eve & New Year's Day, buses & streetcars will operate on adjusted schedules. On New Year's Eve, routes will operate on the Saturday schedule. On New Year's Day, routes will operate on the Sunday schedule. Ferries will operate on their normal schedules.

Ferry service along the Algiers Point – Canal Street route will be temporarily suspended from 6 PM until 7 PM on Monday, February 28, 2022, due to the Lundi Gras fireworks display. Service will resume once the display is completed.
RTA has relocated its central transit hub to RTA headquarters at 2817 Canal Street. The following bus lines will utilize the relocated transit hub: 15, 28, 32, 39, 51, 52, 57, 62, 63, 64, 65, 80, 84, 88, 91, 100, 101, 102, 106, 114, 115, 202.

The Algiers Point-Canal Street Ferry is temporarily out of service due to damage to the Levy resulting from the impact of a nylon rope to the propeller. Unfortunately, the RTA is unable to deploy the Margaret Lab as a back-up because the Levy vessel is presently immobile.
As part of Orleans' and Jefferson Parishes’ efforts to provide regional public transportation, we are excited to announce the 39 - Tulane bus line extension to Ochsner Medical Center (
