The RTA is excited to learn @LouisianaGov posthumously pardoned Homer Plessy today. Plessy's arrest for refusing to leave a “whites only” railroad car became a symbol for segregation laws. We thank Mr. Plessy for his courage and revere him as an early leader in transit equity.

Mixing the old with the new! Streetcars get a new paint job every 7 years with touch ups from time to time. The first photo is a Perley A. Thomas car mid-paint job. The second photo is a completed paint job. It takes about two weeks to paint one streetcar.
