EPA has announced $3B to help replace lead pipes & is urging states to remove funding limits like the ones placed on NYC. We hope our NYS partners do so to help DEP keep water bills low & provide disadvantaged communities in NYC with their fair share of these federal grants.
There are more than 9 million lead service lines across the nation. Today’s $3 billion investment to identify and replace these lines brings the U.S. closer to replacing 100% of lead service lines.

this week to announce the completion of a $9 million project to upgrade nearly four miles of water mains in the Rego Park and Forest Hills neighborhoods. Work was completed over $5 million under budget and six months ahead of schedule.
Out of the Archives: Delivering a 4-ton steel waterway casting for the 1st City Water Tunnel, 110 years ago today at the W 37th St. Pennsylvania Railroad freight yard (now the Javits Center). Smith, Hauser & Locher were the contractors.
