It was great to be back in Parliament Buildings again today. We spent the day at a special research event examining and discussing issues related to our chosen topics: Youth Mental Health; School Curriculum; Climate Change; & the Awareness of Children’s Rights.

We've been a bit quiet on here, but there's been lots going on behind the scenes. Last week, we held our first meeting with

& some of the Co-Design Panel members. The Panel of young people from organisations across NI is helping to co-design recruitment plans.

We finished with a debate on whether the minimum age of criminal responsibility should be raised from 10 to 14. Although the majority voted against the change, members were instead keen to consider a range of ages between 10-18 years.

We were delighted that our brand new Business Committee could meet for the first time yesterday.
The online meeting enabled members to discuss requests and opportunities for the Youth Assembly, as well as preparations for the next sitting.
