The NBA could have the best 450 players in the world (it doesn’t) and it still wouldn’t be “The World Championship.”
Just like Manchester City weren’t “The World Champions” last year, neither were the Denver Nuggets.
“World Champions” has a specific meaning.
This isn’t hard.
Steph Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and James Harden have combined to win *10 NBA scoring titles.*
Or, the exact same amount as Michael Jordan won on his own.
Weird thought...
UNC isn’t where they are if Walker Kessler’s parents don’t make a horrible mistake opening the door for Brady Manek.
The Tar Heels aren’t playing for a title without Brady.
@mcuban
I get that it’s a funny way to illustrate the ridiculousness of 45’s point, but I just want a quiet, normal president.
Less circus clown, basically.
Dean Smith coached Hubert Davis at UNC.
Hubert Davis coached under Roy Williams at UNC.
Hubert Davis is the new coach at UNC.
The family tree is alive and well. 👊
@WorldWideWob
That’s tough if you don’t know how the business works.
I have no clue who the reporter is, but he may have been asked to get a quote from LeBron for a larger story. There may have been a deadline involved. Who knows?
Just a tough position to be in.
Seventh Woods came to UNC when not a lot of players would.
In his first two years injuries inhibited his best quality; amazing athleticism. Those injuries put him in "catch up mode" from the start.
Still, you never doubted his enthusiam or effort.
I'll always be a Seventh fan.
I just heard a local sports radio announcer in Georgia beg fans to please start supporting the Atlanta Braves the same way they do our local soccer team, Atlanta United.
I never thought I'd live to see this day.

So...
1. The President told border agents to break the law.
2. The border agents bosses said don't listen to the President.
3. The border agents bosses said *if* you obey the President you could be breaking the law and responsible.
Very normal.
Once again, Pop ends the debate.
Folks running around this site declaring the NBA Champions are “World Champions” as crazy as Michael Scott declaring bankruptcy on The Office. 😂😂😂😂
Kevin Looney outrebounded the NBA’s leading rebounder by 29 boards across the series.
Has a league leading rebounder ever lost the battle of the boards by more to a single opponent in a playoff series?
"It's a blessing to have him come all the way out here to see me in a regular season game. That just shows you how big of a family Carolina is and any recruit that's missing that, well they're missing out." - Coby White on UNC Head Coach Roy Williams attending his game tonight.
@derekrucker5
If you asked me, “who was the best basketball team in the world last year?” I would 100% say the Denver Nuggets without flinching.
That doesn’t make them world champs though.
You have to earn that title in a competition against teams around the world.
Steph Curry is the greatest shooter ever.
Nobody has hot streaks as hot as Klay Thompson.
Somehow, the universe put them on the same team... with Kevin Durant.
Two things to watch here
1. Kevin Harlan is an expert. Watch him hold his mic close when the shot goes in so his voice cuts through the roaring crowd.
2. Then, he spreads his arms so his analysts know to lay out. He is setting them up.

**Not much difference to me**
Story time: When UNC was replacing Roy Williams I had several former players text me and tell me Hubert Davis was the guy for the job.
Every one of them agreed.
As usual, the players in that Tar Heel family were right.
Hubert Davis is unquestionably the man.
I smile so much thinking about how much Dean Smith and Roy Williams would have absolutely loved coaching Elliot Cadeau.
Hubert Davis is making us all so proud.
In the commotion of the last 24 hours, I *REALLY* hope UNC fans are remembering the name Jeremiah Francis.
He committed to the Tar Heels as a Top 50 prospect two years ago.
Jeremiah has a ton of talent and if he gets healthy, look out.
The block/charge. The JR Smith blunder. The Tristan Thompson ejection. The Tristan Thompson push to Draymond. Draymond exacerbating the situation by taunting. Kevin Love coming off the bench.
None of this is an issue if George Hill makes a free throw.
Down 23 points, with the game over and their career winding down, Joel Berry and Theo Pinson stood up and cheered when Brandon Huffman got a dunk with 20 seconds left.
That's UNC basketball
@kylegriffin1
Christopher Buckley calls this "Flash card conservatism."
Essentially, dumbed down buzzwords designed to emit a reliable, Pavlovian response among the uneducated base.
Joel Berry and Theo Pinson: Heart and Soul.
When there was a phony cloud around the UNC program, Joel and Theo were a very real dose of sunshine.
Talent, effort & pride made them National Champions that will never be forgotten in Chapel Hill.
Thanks so much for the memories.
Nassir Little's first two NCAA Tournament games...
- 19 points and 4 rebounds in 17 minutes vs Iona
- 20 points and 7 rebounds in 22 minutes vs Washington

Folks in Chapel Hill are going to have no idea what a massive, heroic performance Brady Manek had tonight for the Perth Wildcats.
Brady literally scored the very points that sent Perth to the playoffs and eliminated Melbourne United.
@RadioFreeTom
Apparently DeSantis hasn’t heard that New York has extradition powers in Florida until 21 years after the last descendant of King Charles has died.
I get the idea that Steph Curry scored 33 points in the 2nd Half against the Rockets with defenders draped all over him.
I don't get the idea that a coach would respond to that performance with the strategic thought "Well what if we just leave him wide the hell open?"

American Justice 46 days apart...
George Floyd: A black man murdered by a white police officer.
Roger Stone: A white criminal let off scot free by the white President of the United States.
Steph Curry increases his NBA scoring lead over Bradley Beal after a 36 point performance.
Updated numbers are...
1. Steph Curry - 31.9344
2. Bradley Beal - 31.4067
In Coby White's one year at UNC, his stock rose more than any other player at last year's McDonald's All-America Game.
Congrats on a massively successful season and a blindingly bright future.
Pic 1 is Al Horford and Steph’s takeoff point.
Pic 2 is Horford and Steph’s landing.
Pic 3 is Zaza and Kawhi’s takeoff point.
Pic 4 is their landing.
I post this to say, maybe we can talk about Game 4 and not nonsense like this sort of false equivalence.
@ramonashelburne
It's one of the handful of moments in life where I'll always remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when the news came down.
Just on a personal note, I’m genuinely honored that my voice will be the one on the NBA’s official highlight the night LeBron James broke Kareem’s all-time scoring record.
It’s LeBron’s night but a dream come true for me as well.
What an incredible ride! Thanks for your support
@StevenTDennis
"Because the Constitution doesn't explicitly say we can't screw with the mail, means we can *totally screw with the mail" is a hell of a take from the US DOJ.
It has been three years since the siege of the U.S. Capitol on the day Congress was set to certify the 2020 election results. Since the attack, more than 1,200 Americans have been charged for their roles.

I want to gently propose something.
Maybe we rethink the things worthy of a laugh or “lol.”
Udonis is a 41 year veteran who went undrafted 20 years ago.
He may be walking off the court for the last time as an NBA player.
Is this the emotional moment we want to laugh at?
@KennySpenceNBA
It’s crazy, but you could argue that Boston would have been so good that the Bulls 90’s run may not have happened in the same way.
In fact, on an even crazier tangent, LeBron might have the one thing he can’t seem to get had this tragedy in the 80’s not happened.

This makes me so happy.
Roy Williams was just four years removed from winning a National Championship when he resigned because he felt like he was the wrong guy for the job.
Coby White’s words offer a strong rebuttal to that claim.
