8 years of further education, 80k in debt, and no info on a job I’m about to start in august. You ask us why junior doctors are striking and medical students are supporting these strikes? Here’s one reason why! Make it make sense 😭
Dr Myurri Lohesan MBBS BSc (Hons) is official! 15 year old me decided to become a doctor and a decade later, this dream has been achieved. However, 4 year old me clearly manifested hard 😂
Massive love and thanks to my close family and friends for all your support! 🩷
I’m just getting tired of the mind games that a certain organisation keeps playing with medical students nationally. Year on year there’s always an issue… SJT booking opens earlier than expected, SJT scores being released earlier with no warning. Something needs to change
To all the

going out tonight because it’s Halloween.... Thank you in advance for the rise in cases 👏 👏 👏
Apparently lockdown rules don’t matter to you and the worst part is, I’m starting to see why our generation gets the blame for this and it really sucks 😞
Grateful that
@stjohnambulance
gave me the opportunity to volunteer in a hospital setting back at the beginning of the first wave because now I at least know how to be somewhat useful on a ward without causing issues (I hope)! T minus 6 days until placement begins 😬
If doctors circumventing normal procedures for their relatives goes against GMC guidance (based on SJT revision), then why am I hearing about and seeing students on work experience placement in hospitals because of nepotism… 🙃

Delighted to have received the award for Volunteer of the Year at the BLSA Association Dinner! Thank you to

Thank you to the

Thank you for replying back to my email

and showing your support for the

campaign! Full time students deserve full time funding.
Anybody who has enough talent and dedication should have the chance to become a Doctor.
Yet medical school is increasingly unaffordable for most people.
It's time for Immediate access to full maintenance loans for medical students.

I only got £300 from the NHS bursary scheme for this term…
To put that into perspective a zone 1-3 travel card in London (which I need to travel to uni/placement) is £130 (on student oyster)…
Tell me this system isn’t broken 😞

Thank you to the team
@johanniter
for hosting me last week. I’ve learned so much in such a short period of time and it was so good to meet such an incredible group of people!

What’s up with med schools quizzing us on such weird niche specific things in exams? Was starting to wonder if I was sitting a medical school or microbiology exam today 🙃

When a certain organisation says there isn’t a reserve list but PLOT TWIST, your deanery has one 😭 oh and then they tell you that you get allocated a trust but actually you didn’t and you’re actually on the reserve list 🙃
@stjohnambulance
Student Volunteering made me realise that medicine was for me. Being clinically responsible for my own patients, whilst learning from and working with others, is a true privilege. Now, I get to play my part during the pandemic amongst an incredible team!

Here’s a real day in the life of a fourth year medical student
08:45: wakes up and turns on laptop for a full day of lectures
09:05: all doctors hosting today’s lectures have cancelled
09:06: goes back to bed because this girl has a cold (not rona)
Have you really finished finals if you haven’t taken a photo outside the Bart’s fountain? Honestly crazy how we became friends so quickly over this year ❤️ Thanks for the life lesson about Mauritius 😉

The face of 2 gals who have finished med school finals !!! To think we were brought together through

Anyone know whether there are any good seasonal/summer jobs? Or how med students can apply for bank work to do during the summer? I’d rather do something non medical but at this point, money is needed to fund fourth year 😂

Time for another 🧵
Someone I know who is a medical student has refused to get the COVID-19 vaccine and has done a BBC interview (which I’m refusing to share because she doesn’t need any extra clout).
It’s been a very weird and wonderful birthday this year and a a crazy three weeks but, I couldn’t have done it without these two amazing friends of mine!
Given the changes within this year’s system, the last 12ish hours have led to students being unsure on how to feel about their SJT scores. Releasing these scores unannounced with no supportive guidance on their interpretation has caused more harm than good
I was on the phone to a hospital ward to get an update on my uncle. I give the nurse his name and I hear her say wait a minute. She then proceeds to talk to the nurse who is looking after him and refers to my uncle as ‘the one with the long name’
When you ask to book the clinical skills suite at the hospital because the university is full, only for them to say no because you’re not in third or final year… 🙃
Apparently I am now a targeted ad... 😂💁🏽♀️
All jokes aside, it’s a huge honour for me to represent
@stjohnambulance
and all the amazing work that our volunteers have been doing during the pandemic. I’m so excited to see what the future brings, especially the Vaccination Project
@TharushaGunawa4
We said we aren’t doctors, and they said that oh well just go to the mess room (which we had no clue where it was) and the doctors had all left the ward at this point. Such mean girl vibes honestly
And that’s it! My time as

Lead Student has officially come to an end! The team have put together some incredible events, from online events with international audiences to raising awareness about CPR and an away day in Dorset! Best of luck to Harry and the team!
A bit of a delayed tweet but, as of a few weeks ago, my time as RSVO (or DSVL) came to an end! It’s been an absolute pleasure being part of a fantastic team for 3.5 years and working with some incredible

Myurri Christmas Eve to me 🙃

Symptoms include a little bit of a headache and one nostril is alternating between being blocked and runny

I was in the same situation as you last year! It is pretty crap and I still don’t know how they keep justifying this but it will work out in the end for you!
Thank you this fantastic group of student volunteers for helping me run this workshop! It’s so important to ensure we bridge the gap so that we support the next generation achieve their goals, regardless of their background 💚
