Last week, it was reported in the Financial Times that the TOCs were ready to offer a 10% pay rise over 2 years but the government blocked it by adding conditions to the deal that they knew the @RMTunion would never accept. It’s worth noting that the government didn’t deny this.

Let me show you a recent example of how unsafe it could be to have drivers operating doors on trains that they won’t be able to see the full length of them. If most/all the cameras are obscured, would you say it’s safe for a driver to close the doors? Answer: NO, it’s not.

So instead of giving the TOCs the licence to freely negotiate with the @RMTunion and settle the dispute, the government have chosen to let workers go on strike (and lose pay whilst doing so) and pay the companies top-up money so they can continue making profits.

The cuts include: - reducing the Network Raíl maintenance staff scheduling by HALF This is the main attack on jobs, that will compromise safety and increase the likelihood of defective track equipment being missed for repair…which could lead to rail accidents.

There’s a few other myths that the media keep pushing that we should debunk right now. Firstly, the average salary for a railway worker is NOT £44000. It’s actually closer to the national average of £29000. If they were all on £44000, they wouldn’t be on strike. Be guided.

£31bn was put into the rail industry since 2020 because the government decided to make the rail industry exempt from from placing workers on furlough during the height of the COVID crisis. Nobody forced them to do it, they decided that themselves. Oh you didn’t know? You do now.

They (the RDG) also want to implement “modernisation” on the train operating companies (TOCs). The list is actually very long. Have a look at this graphic. The changes are listed below. These are the areas where the TOCs believe they can make yearly savings of 2 billion pounds.

The TOCs take their mandate from the Secretary of State (in this case, the Transport Secretary) and they - via the government - must sign off any proposed deal. It’s also written into law that it is the Transport Secretary that must deal with industrial relations.

I've been DJing at my weekly Saturday residency for 3 months now. In that time, the events manager has told me he's had local DJs hitting him up, saying they can do a better job…all whilst biting my playing style at their own gigs! 😅 CAN YOU IMAGINE! Why do some DJs do this?

An example. Hollyoaks literally did a storyline about racial discrimination in the workplace, another one was someone finding out they had cancer, and they’re currently doing a storyline about someone who has OCD. Real life issues. Is Hollyoaks weird also? :////
