When we met, we talked about Beau. And when I told
@JoeBiden
I was in Beau’s class in college, he held my hand and wouldn’t let go of the connection to his lost son. This is our next president.
Beside myself with joy to join the outstanding research and clinical faculty, scientists, nurses, and pharmacists

@ClevelandClinic
😢😢😢
On my final day
@ClevelandClinic

@UMiamiHealth
a little easier! Will so miss my wonderful CLE friends, colleagues, and especially patients from the past 18 years. Can’t wait for new ones in MIA!🏝
This Monday, 9/14, I pass the torch as Director of

Leukemia Program, my role for the past 10 years, to

So exciting, the galleys from When Blood Breaks Down
@mitpress
have arrived! Available April 2020 (and hoping that more than just my mother reads it, though that alone would be a win) 🤗
After writing a book for a year, there is nothing quite like that moment when you see it in print for the first time…and your name is even spelled right! Thank you

I recently moved from

Having your face on a billboard is one thing.
But having your face splashed on a bus...that's really making it big!
One question though: If I sit on the bus and look out the window through my own head, do I enter another dimension?🤔🤣
Thanks

"Don't be afraid of Covid." Are you kidding me? After 210,000 deaths in the U.S. & 1 million deaths worldwide? This either shows a breathtakingly callous, inhumane & counterproductive attitude, or he has altered mental status – in which case the 25th Amendment should be invoked.
Watching the

A couple of years ago, I stood with

This past week I sent a tweet about

My 19 year-old son sent a tweet about vanity license plates and got 108,000 likes with over 5,000,000 impressions.
Thanks Twitter.
This frontline worker just got his

Yesterday my mother-in-law, who has lupus on immunosuppressants, went to

They refused to give her the shot saying “These are only for transplant patients.”

The median income return was found to be $14.50 for every $1 research and development spending on cancer drugs. Well there goes that specious justification for high cancer drug pricing.
Biggest health intervention of the week? My son and I built these bannisters so my 85-year-old mother-in-law can safely get up and down to her favorite bench, near her garden. ♥️
The future of

So thrilled to have our Randomized phase 2 trial of pevonedistat plus AZA vs AZA for higher-risk MDS/CMML or low-blast AML now online in leukemia! Spoiler alert: better EFS in higher risk MDS patients with combination!

Starting 2020 caring for inpatients with a new diagnosis of leukemia, or one that has refused to be extinguished, or with complications from our leukemia treatments, am once again awestruck by their dignity, bravery, and love. We are truly privileged in healthcare!
In my 5 years on ODAC, attended a small handful of meetings where we voted “no” for a drug and
@US_FDA
approved the drug anyway, but never where we almost uniformly (10-0-1) opposed a drug like Aducanumab for Alzheimer’s.
