What unfolded right before our eyes last night south of Andrews, Texas was something I’ll never forget. From a bust of a day to one of the best moments in my chasing career. The colors, the hail dumping, the roar we could hear coming…I am still feeling euphoric.

No words for yesterday’s chase. From watching the tower go up just west of our target, to this moment near Denver City, TX…hands down, probably top 3 structure I’ve ever seen in person. Time-lapse dream for me.

As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!). They must, with Europe and others, watch over...
It’s way too short, but here’s a brief time-lapse of it looking over downtown Phoenix! Wish I had been more prepared and time-lapsed it from the very beginning!

July 29th, Tucson...12.5 minutes, 35 images with 75+ bolts that I counted. That is a rate of six strikes per minute. So thrilling to watch this with my workshop guests! I don't do many stacks, but I had to in this case!

Absolutely incredible capture of St. Elmo’s Fire last night by my good buddy
@Scuba_F16
. He was piloting a Boeing 767 somewhere over Georgia and this crazy weather phenomenon started happening. Never seen it before!
Random farmer drove up to us tonight in Nebraska and showed us this photo he shot on his phone. I immediately threw my cameras in the mud for the second time this week 😂
After nearly getting blasted, I hid in the back of my truck as my cameras did the work…luckily they were aimed correctly and a couple monsterous bolts hit just 1-2 miles west of me. Def one of my all-time fav lightning pics. Shot from the Willcox playa.

I should be in bed because I have a 7am flight, but couldn’t help editing this shot of one of the most gorgeous storms I’ve ever seen in Arizona. Never seen a green core like that in this state before. And at sunset. Out of control colors.

#stormhour
From May 23rd south of Arthur, NE…one of the most incredible sights I’ve seen storm chasing. A hail core microburst that happened in less than 4 minutes or so. Couldn’t even time-lapse it. But wow, we stood there in awe.

@NWSNorthPlatte
Sometimes nailing only one good shot after chasing 10 hours is all you need. Immediately an all-time favorite of mine. Will share the wide angle down the road. From yesterday evening at the

I’ve seen MAYBE a handful of stunning, structured, hail-dumping beasts in Arizona…and this one can be added to that short list. Elgin yesterday evening…thought I was back in Kansas for a bit there.

Absolutely bonkers. Had no idea what this would look like from here, I was scrambling to change lenses…so incredible to witness something like this rocket streak across the sky. Thanks so much to
@jperez1690
for the heads up.

Never did I expect to capture the entire epic structure of a supercell with a tornado underneath. Was a dream, but had little hope. Time-lapse utopia, was on the verge of tears, hugging and celebrating with

Sometimes you stare in awe at what you’re seeing when you chase these storms. The way the lightning illuminated this storm was incredible. Little Kelvin-Helmholtz fringing along the base and the moon peaking out upper left. What a show.

A stunning sunset in Sedona just after a wedding at the Chapel of the Holy Cross. Mind boggling colors and a rainbow, and people were running around like crazy taking pics. This is a pano of a few images.

Not gonna lie, I love storm chasing, but seeing this massive supercell/mothership late at night flashing in the darkness was downright spooky. Back on June 20th before it ran into Dodge City, KS

Probably my favorite day chasing this spring…May 23rd, in the Sandhills of Nebraska, watching this stunning supercell flash in the late evening darkness. Near the town of Tryon, NE.

The San Jon night demon was one of the more incredible supercells I've photographed. Seeing that hail-core blue flashing in the dark was unreal. This will be a highlight time-lapse of 2023. Probably will re-edit this when I get home. Wow.

My Oma passed away last night. It’s a miracle I’m even here. She escaped Poland to Germany at the tail end of WWII on her own, separated from her family, as a teenager. Incredible courage. Immigrated through Ellis Island when my mom was 8 or 9. RIP. Hope you see Opa soon.
In 1930 the Indiana Bell building was rotated 90°. Over a month, the structure was moved 15 inch/hr, all while 600 employees still worked there. There was no interruption to gas, heat, electricity, water, sewage, or the telephone service they provided. No one inside felt it move.
A monster updraft across southeast Montana yesterday…tough road network, but these views were amazing. Almost like a volcano erupting. And Montana is unbelievably beautiful.

The power of the monsoon summed up in a single moment last night as a downburst kicks up a haboob and crazy lightning bolts land out in front near the San Tans.

Been an amazing year for storm photography...tried to choose my four favorite images from 2022, which was tough and I'm not sure it's my final decision (🤣), but here they are! Would love to see your Top 4 images from 2022!
@thestormys
are coming in in a few months!
Unbelievable scene and incredibly surreal yesterday SW of Johnson City, KS. Thankful for
@Sarah_AlSayegh
helping to calm me as I thought we were too far north. But we raced south and positioned perfectly to experience something amazing. Whew.

Thursday east of Chester, OK. Sunset initiation turned into a structured beast that barely moved. Sat here for over half an hour and was treated to an amazing show. Thankful to have caught this nasty positive strike hitting 1-2 miles away! Wide shot might be better :)
#stormhour
This stunning supercell yesterday southwest of Dalhart, TX had such little rain, we could sit here just on the northeast side of it with a clear view into the vault. Sunset colors were amazing! What a lovely surprise.

@canonusa
The beast of Sublette, KS last night, one of the final shots I took of this insane supercell after a long time-lapse right in the vault area. Going to be an unreal time-lapse. What a friggin’ day!
#kswx
Did a speedy u-turn when we saw these beautiful horses south of Gordon, NE two days ago. One of the more vivid rainbows I’ve seen on the backside of the supercell moving through the area. Hopefully makes

2021 are coming in January and it’s gonna be LIT. Here’s one of mine.
Dubbing this image “Ball Drop” (🤣🤣) from last night…a textbook microburst unfolded right before my eyes, entirely captured on time-lapse…with a fantastic dust foot kicked up, then more dust that eventually hit the camera. Amazing start to

Beast of a supercell near Imperial, Nebraska last night…incredible chase for us that lasted around 10 hours, with a weak tornado, and then increasingly great structure. Shot almost 9,000 frames of time-lapse! A day to remember.

One of the more stunning shelf clouds I’ve ever seen yesterday near Helena, Oklahoma. Skipped a lot of foregrounds that weren’t 100% perfect until I spotted that old windmill. Nice surprise structure yesterday after not having much hope!

Normally don’t dump two photos in a day, but…had to share the “AZ Mothership" out west of Sentinel last night. Hurried shot, wish I had taken my time focusing and stuff, but it was kinda unreal to see this flashing in the sky above me. Rare sight here.

We will miss you man, I have your City jersey...thanks for everything you did in Phoenix, you wont be forgotten and good luck to you and Cam :(
Sometimes a storm is so electric that it freaks me out. This one on May 16th, near Dalhart, TX, was absolutely frightening. Bolts every few seconds, in all directions...this incredible one landed just about 1/4 mile away.

North America (except for that snowy clip) is all my stuff. Blown away. Incredibly proud. So much hard work and effort to capture that stuff.
I guess I drove all the way to North Dakota for lightning :) And after someone gave me crap about it, I figured I’d just shoot everything in the middle of the road this year! From south of Pick City, ND last night.

Yesterday's chase took me all the way to Organ Pipe near the Mexico border then up past Wickenburg for sunset. And what a sunset it was. Multiple cells in multiple directions, had a field day. But this particular bolt was an absolute stunner!

A moment from 2am this morning that might still be burned into my retinas. I was looking right at this spot the moment all six of these bolts flashed for about a 1.5 seconds and if this was the last storm I see in 2023, I'll be okay with that.
