Tonight's sunset from Yavapai and Mather Points. 12/12/20. Just enough snow fell this afternoon to make footpaths and roads icy and slick. We're expecting cold and mostly clear weather tomorrow through Thursday December 17, 2020. #AZWX #GrandCanyon #Arizona #PeaceInParks

There is always a new perspective, a new way to look at something, and sometimes it’s just a matter of taking a pause and being a better observer of the things around us. We don’t always know what our challenges will be, but it doesn’t mean we should stop exploring. 📷A.Rehkopf

Limestone layers equate to shallow sea environments, sandstone layers mean sandy beaches or dunes, while shale layers translate to mud flats, swamps, or coastal plains. How do we know all this? The rocks tell us, through their fossils, mineral grains, and structures.
