Third year med students: we have to apply to residency THIS YEAR.
I don’t know about everyone else, but that alone makes 2024 pretty scary😅🤢

Thankful for
@HolzerHealth
for supporting medical students interested in research, and for
@OhioDOs
for being so welcoming today at the annual Ohio Osteopathic Symposium!
#ohioosteo
I hope that the forced transparency will make schools learn to better support their students from the beginning, rather than forcing them into a backup plan that doesn’t align with their goals
Big news from the NRMP:
Starting in 2026, there will be *public* reporting of match outcomes for medical schools and applicant demographic data for programs.

Thankful to represent DO students in West Virginia and present this case today at the WV American College of Surgeons Conference!

@AmCollSurgeons
Words can’t describe how thankful I am for
@ACOS_MSS
@ACOSurgeons
. Beyond excited and honored to serve as Chair this upcoming year!!
Let’s get to work team!✨
The immediate terror from the email, and then relief of seeing that I passed STEP 1 was not the emotional rollercoaster that I needed this morning🥹🥲

Did I just schedule Level 1 with my credit card just for the points? Yes, of course. Does it make me sick that I just spent $715? Yes, of course. Does it make me even more sick that I now have to go schedule Step 1 too? Also yes.

Getting a uworld question right based on something I distinctly remember learning in the clinic scratches an itch in my brain that I didn't even know existed.
One of my audition applications includes an essay prompt “please tell us who you are” and now I’m suddenly having an identity crisis😅

In the last 2 weeks I took both Step 1 and Level 1, my fiancé graduated from medical school, we celebrated some of our people, and today we leave for a much needed vacation✈️🌏🏝️
Honored to have the opportunity to give a podium presentation at the
#ACOSMileHighMeeting
this afternoon and so thankful for everyone on this project for making it happen!
To all of the second years who may not have gotten their 1st choice of rotation sites: last year I was crushed to be placed farther from my family in a town in the middle of nowhere. But I leaned into it and have made some of my best friends, it’ll all work out💕
Got our rotation assignments for third year today and really wish I was happier about it. Getting my 11th choice out of 17 sucks, and today I’m letting myself be sad about it.
Thankful to represent our
@WVSOM
chapter at the
#ACOSMileHighMeeting
for our community service involvement this year. So many chapters are doing great things for their communities!
We are overjoyed to announce the 2023 SROY award recipient, Student Doctor Bridget Kelly, OMS 3.
The SROY award recognizes osteopathic medical students with highly competitive experiences and advancement in clinical, translational or basic science research.
End of my first family medicine rotation calls for more baking! Chocolate coffee cupcakes with a vanilla espresso buttercream and these guys were gone before lunch!😋
Finally home from an awesome weekend at
#ACOSunshinestate
!! My bag on the other hand…not so much. Here’s to hopefully getting my suitcase on Tuesday?¿🥲
Thanks to the

Met so many people today that my voice is hoarse. So thankful for
#ACOSinAustin

@ACOS_MSS
Last night I received the RSO Extraordinary Leader Award. I am so humbled and honored to represent TCOM and our
@ACOS_MSS
chapter. Thank you to all of my co-leaders who stuck by me along the way.
As
#ACOSInTheWindyCity
comes to a close, I’m feeling truly blessed to be a part of this organization. It’s inspiring how every surgeon here is so dedicated to giving back to the next generation of osteopathic surgeons.🥹

I have the chase sapphire preferred and I love it! It doesn’t restrict you to a single airline or hotel brand, which is nice because I can’t afford to be that loyal yet😂

So thankful for
@RimshaAfzal15
and KYCOM’s AMA chapter for having me tonight! Hopefully I was able to provide some helpful tips as we start to think about board prep season!
Less than one week till the fall
@ACOS_MSS

@J_thanson
’s hard work come to life!
Not sure how I’m supposed to focus on classes when I can’t stop thinking about being reunited with my friends and eating my weight in barbecue this week in Austin at the
@ACOS_MSS
conference
With 15 minutes to get off the plane and across Atlanta’s airport, was really embracing Dr. Conrad’s

When I took the role of ACOS-MSS chapter president, I said that I was committed to helping students improve their skills and go into rotations confidently. It feels good to see that through and run our 4th suture session of the semester with 60 students across 2 days!

I'm so excited to serve on the Executive Board for
@ACOS_MSS
as Research Chair! I cannot wait to help this organization grow a stronger research presence.
If you need help writing an abstract, I'm your gal!🧪

Had a great start to the morning…until my coffee fell off the roof of my car and the lid to my mug broke. Now I’m starting the week with no coffee and no mug. Happy Monday 🫠
Learning surgery is basically the same as when my dad would have me help with odd projects around the house while criticizing my every movement
“Now hit STRAIGHT DOWN on the nail… Does that look STRAIGHT to you?? Maybe you need your eyes checked…”

Spent some time with family this weekend to celebrate my grandma’s life. She was so excited for me to be the first doctor in the family and I’m so thankful for her endless support of my passions.
@IntrovertMed
Normal grading puts an unnecessary amount of stress on students during an already stressful 1st 2 years. Having a P/F grading system allows students to focus on a greater understanding rather than on small details that aren’t board relevant, but taught anyways
Treating our ACOS-MSS chapter with homemade cookies and brownies for our elections meeting tomorrow. It’s been an honor to serve as President this year and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
Join
@ACOS_MSS
tonight at 8PM EST as we welcome Dr. Frank Oaks for our first ever Grand Rounds! Dr. Oaks is a vascular surgeon from Oklahoma Heart Hospital and will be talking about claudication and working through differentials! Register to join us at
