Dixie Dean's unbeaten record of 60 league goals in 39 games in the top flight has stood for 95 years
8 games in, Dean 12, Haaland 14. Dixie scored five in his next game v Manchester United.
Refreshing to see Dixie Deans record actually being recognised and spoken about.
Dixie Dean 15 league games, 25 goals 1927/28
Haaland 15 league games, 20 goals 2022/23

Haaland has scored 30 league goals.
Dixie scored 100 in all competitions
Haaland has scored 45 goals in all comps 👍
Why doesn’t VAR get looked at for a clear foul in the penalty box???

Corruption in full view for 90 minutes.
Erling Haaland has 10 league goals. The European record for the most goals in a domestic season is 50, from Lionel Messi in 2011-12.
Will the Norwegian beat that record?
1st March 1980
Orchestrated every moment of his last day with us. On the final whistle at the place he loved most, Goodison Park, we lost this wonderful man.
Always in our thoughts and hearts💙
Hoping for a win today, great atmosphere, for the fans, the club and all Evertonians
Excellent way to celebrate Dixie Deans Birthday.
Born today 1907
Cheers Grandad , Happy Birthday x💙
Leaving work today, I was walking through The Shankly Hotel reception towards the carpark when I was asked if I could change the music playing in their restaurant, bar and reception.
Always happy to help I changed the music to Z Cars turned up the volume and left the building 😉
1st March 1980, Derby day Goodison Park.Grandad never accepted invites to a Derby, saying it wasn’t a game he liked to watch.For an unknown reason he decided to attend this one,his first.Many strange things happened that day,Dixie stage managed his exit to be in a place he loved.
Born today this Everton legend
His 60 league goal record will stand forever.
Happy heavenly birthday Dixie, you’ll never be forgotten
Evertonian, husband, father and grandad. 💙
After Bob had scored his 30th league goal, he met Grandad coming out of the lift in Everton. Grandad shook his hand and said “ Well done son, now you can say your half as good as me”!
Happy Birthday Bob 💙
Reduced to tears on the drive into work.
Chose to go along the dock road for the best view, & caught a moment in someone’s life.
Gentlemen in a wheelchair outside Bramley Moore gates making the sign of the cross and blowing a kiss at the ground
It means so much to so many 💙
1st March 1980
Dixie never accepted invites to watch a Derby, saying it wasn’t a match he enjoyed.
For some reason he changed his mind and went, his 1st watched Derby.
We believe he stage managed the whole day to exit this world on the final whistle in the place he loved most
Lesson of the day....
@Dark3stJ
Don’t post a picture calling my Grandad a goalhanger, when the picture isn’t even him.
Don’t reply to me saying “how would I know, I wasn’t there”
Don’t underestimate the love of his granddaughter.
60 league goals unbeaten record 👍
On this day in 1966 Everton won the F A Cup.
Grandad travelled with the team to Wembley and watched the Blues lift the Cup. A fair few beers were consumed that day!
Thanks to
@angiesliverpool
for this photo
On this day, Dixie Dean achieved what no other player has since done.
60 league goals in one season.
Never one to do things the easy way, he needed a hat trick against Arsenal to complete the record. And he got it.
Unbeaten record that still stands.
A wonderful childhood spent growing up with this legend, Dixie Dean.
Two very special family photos from the box.
I lived with this amazing man for 13 wonderful years and have many, many happy memories.
Gentleman, Goalscorer, Grandad 💙
Young lad sat on side steps of the hotel this morning sobbing his heart out.
No one passing asked him what was wrong.
Sat & spoke with him brought him into the hotel, waited for a friend to collect him.
His younger brother died this morning in a RTA
Please be kind to others 💙
The Dixie Dean Hotel
No 1 Hotel in our city
This actually made me cry happy tears.
Can’t go up, probably will defo go down.
But please share this moment with me 💙💙💙
Hard, hard work, but WOW
Retweet’s appreciated.
@Everton
Going to give Twitter a rest for a bit, fed up with the negativity, constant criticism, vile pm’s, and utter 🔔ends.
Hope you’ve enjoyed pics of the person I’m not allowed to mention, my Grandad.
To all the lovely genuine people, it’s been a pleasure, see you sometime in 2023 💙
Today something wonderful happened, that made me cry happy tears.
Today something came back to me that I haven’t held in my hands since I held my Grandads hand.
Unwanted by its owner and sold on EBay.
Absolutely priceless to me.
My Grandads ring.
Dixie was gifted a Weatherall overcoat as they wanted him to endorse their product.
He said he’d be happy to do that, but only if the rest of the team got one too.
Team player, leader, legend 💙
Hi all, only joined Twitter to keep my Grandads name spoken & relevant. I think he deserves recognition & I take great pride in informing people of his career and records
If Twitter disappears I’ll continue to post on my personal instagram account 💙

Congratulations to
@HKane
on beating the record held by my Grandad Dixie Dean for nearly a century.
Good luck trying to get 60 league goals in one season though 😉
Beautiful photo of a beautiful couple.
These two helped and guided me so much to be the person I am today.
Both loved and adored daily... my Nanna and Gangan
Greatest English Centre Forward there’s ever been.
Dixie Dean scored 37 hat tricks in his career.
Oh and 60 league goals in one season!
Legend, Greatest Goalscorer, Gentleman
That fact deserves a retweet
@TheSportsman
My Grandad Dixie, my glamorous gorgeous Nanna, my lovely mum, dad and a very small me!
Family pics not seen publicly before, thought I’d share this one with you 💙
“Everton has a strong sense of love and affection that envelops the whole place from the fans.”
Carlo Ancelotti voices his thoughts in yesterday’s online piece in The Athletic.
“The truth is, wearing the Club’s most iconic shirt number, following in the footsteps of the likes of Everton Giants such as Dixie Dean, Dave Hickson, Bob Latchford, Joe Royle and Graeme Sharp, means there is no hiding place.
I wear that number 9 shirt with pride.”
20 yrs ago today my mum Barbara, Dixie’s daughter, & my Uncle Geoff had the honour of unveiling the statue
Chairman Bill said “Dixie Dean’s memory will never be forgetten by people who love football. Today we celebrate the greatest goal machine in the history of world football”
@TheAthleticUK
The unbroken record holder for the most league goals in one season is Dixie Dean with 60 league goals.
If you count all competitions it’s 100
Brilliant evening & send off to celebrate Davids
@prenno
35yr Echo career.
Highly regarded, very respected journalist by so many colleagues, sporting associates & friends.
Really special sincere speeches & a lot of love
Proud wife of everything David has & still will achieve x 💙
@grandoldteam
My Grandad lived and breathed Everton.
He also scored 60 league goals for them in one season.
I was born Blue, I married a Blue and brought two more Blues into the world 💙
Brian Labone, Dave Hickson two of my favourite gentlemen, I adored them both. Very lucky to have spent a lot of time with them throughout my childhood and later as an adult. Always looked out for me 💙 Greatly missed 💙
The coming together & unity shown by Everton fans seems forgotten
Sad
Disagreements over a requested statement.
Disgust of new sponsors despite being the biggest financially beneficial deal.
Fans criticising each other for differing opinions.
We’re better than this Blues💙
Myself and Christina Sagar, granddaughter of Ted Sagar Everton goalkeeper and team mate of Dixie Dean.
Taken in front of an Everton team photo with both our Grandads in at The Dixie Dean Hotel.
Horrendous refereeing.
Turned a blind eye to constant time wasting, blatant falling to the ground on every Everton opportunity.
Ignored the correct time to be added on for extra time.
Proper preferential top 6 refereeing in full view.
@FARefereeing
you’re a joke.
Dixie Dean, footballer, gentlemen, legend.

After hearing the clip of Tommy Lawton on
@bluekippercom
I searched for this treasured beauty of Dixie Dean and Tommy Lawton on the Mersey Ferry, they were great friends and saw each other regularly.
I think they’d had a few!
National papers showing Dixie Dean the respect he deserves.
Haaland is an incredible goalscorer & is only going to get better. But he's still got some way to go to match the greatest.Thanks
