Super excited about

ResidencyCAS bringing more value to applicants. In addition to reducing applications costs (only $99 for 18 applications- the number of signals), the new application will allow a truly rich holistic review of applicants! Proud of this next chapter…
Congratulations to those who received interview offers one hour after

My daughter applying to Anesthesia forwarded her emails to me (during an interview) to watch for interview offers & respond immediately not to lose a spot. This is making me so anxious and unable to focus as have to check at every sound. I don't know how you all do it!

We have heard from many residency programs that applicants are hoarding interviews. Please do not hang on to more interviews than you need as you are short changing your colleagues and their potential to match.

apps compared to last year! almost all increased. Number of signals in parentheses did not make any difference except possibly for Ortho! EM is headed towards another rough season as applicants decreased by 24%! 2 spots per 1 MD applicant!
As I read the reactions to the

How about instead of predicting a dim future, we create a great one?
Call me a dreamer, but I know we can make this right!
Offering students interviews when there are not enough spots for them to sign up is unacceptable! A student just called me crying because received IO (Not OBGYN) from a top school for her when she was driving on freeway, 10 min later spots are gone!

For IMGs more than any other applicant group, too many applications are submitted at places that will never look at them. More than half of programs NEVER look at non-US IMGs and less than 7% often look at them. Program transparency is essential!

Seems secondary applications to
#ERAS

Two questions to think about:
1- why is this needed?
2- is the added-value to programs worth the extra burden and anxiety placed on applicants?
#Match2021
Phrases I heard today from

As the

It's not required and not sure if makes a difference but if it makes you feel better do it. Most important, be honest!(1/4)
Students: Please do NOT hang on to
#residency
interviews you do not intend to pursue. The common date for interview release is so you can plan and not cancel last minute, so others can benefit from those spots.
Stepping Back: Re-evaluating the Use of the Numeric Score in USMLE Examinations

pass-fail scoring is fit-for-purpose as a part of licensure, but the numeric score is not and may not have adequate validity evidence for residency selection.
Residency application process and medical school admissions are not
