The University of Michigan Has At Least 82 Full-Time Diversity Officers at a Total Annual Payroll Cost of $10.6M. That Would Support Full In-State Tuition for 708 Students.
The amazing 80% reduction in world poverty from 42.3% in 1981 to 8.6% in 2018. It probably took 1,000 years to cut the poverty rate in half from to 84% to 42% in 1981; then 24 years to get to 21% in 2005 and then only 10 years to cut it in half again to 10% in 2015.

If you fell out of your chair upon realizing that the University of Michigan has a full-time diversity staff of nearly one hundred employees, one of whom earns more than the president of the United States, you can be forgiven. I nearly did too.
Just out from IRS: In 2021, the top 1% of taxpayers (1.53M) paid a record-high 45.8% of all federal income taxes vs. a record low of 34.4% paid by the bottom 95% (146M). But according to Biden and the Democrats, the rich aren't paying their "fair share." What exactly would be the…
Reality Check on the shortage of academically qualified black high school students. In 2022, there were only 2,000 black high school students scoring +1400 on the SAT test vs. a diversity target of ~5K black freshmen for just the Top 20 schools. See the problem with the math?
Maybe the most important finding from today's Census Bureau report on Income. Yes, the middle class is disappearing but it's because they're moving up to higher income groups. The share of US households making $100K (2018 $$) has more than tripled since 1967, from 9% to 30.4%.
Young Black males are 2% of US population but account for 38% of gun homicide deaths.
Black males 15-34 were 20 times more likely to die by gun homicide than their white counterparts.
More than 50% of all Black teens ages 15-19 who died in 2020 were killed by gun violence.

Top 10 Most Dangerous US Jobs in 2021 & Percent Male. Although mostly unrecognized, we owe a HUGE debt of gratitude to the 4,741 men who sacrificed their lives last year in service to Americans engaged in construction, mining, driving trucks, flying planes, logging, fishing, etc.

Even with the same pandemic, high oil prices, and supply chain disruptions as the US, annual inflation is only 0.5% in Japan, 1.6% in Switzerland, 2.9% in France, and 3.6% in Korea vs. 7.5-8% in the US. Maybe the difference is America's monetary/fiscal policy?

More evidence from today's Census report that the US middle class IS disappearing - UP into higher income groups. Share of US households earning +$100K rose to 34% last year as the share of low/middle income households fell.

Some staggering gender imbalances in higher education favoring women. Men have been an under-represented minority in higher education for the last 40 yrs. Yet women continue to get special preferences and favoritism in the form of scholarships, fellowships, awards, etc
@Chsommers
Here are several: Women have received the majority of biology degrees since 1988 and more than 60% for several decades. Women have received more than 70% of degrees in Health Sciences since the 1970s. Women now receive 80% of Veterinary Medicine degrees.
Every statistic produced about STEM majors, graduate degree holders, and faculty shows that women are under represented. Cite me *one* statistic where women are over represented in STEM. The programs you attack are STEM. Any conflation of STEM w/ all of higher Ed is deceitful.
Most recent data on high school STEM enrollment by gender shows near gender parity for math and science courses. Can we stop claims of a "STEM crisis" that motivates funding and special programs to address shortage of females in STEM?

11,904 Blacks were shot & killed in 2020, mostly by other Blacks & there were 26.6 homicides per 100K Blacks, 12X the rate for Whites (2.2) & 6X the rate for Hispanics (4.5). That seems like a bigger problem than unarmed Blacks shot/killed by police (8 last year, 4 this year)?

We hear a lot about black-white racial academic achievement gaps, not so much about Asian-white gaps. For the 2021 Math SAT the white-black gap of 93 points based on mean scores and 92-point Asian-white gap were ~same. Chart below further illustrates the gaps for 700-800 scores.
