Today I challenged the CEO of P&O Ferries.
He claimed that workers on his ferries were not sacked on 17 March 2022.
I have a feeling the workers who were handcuffed by masked security guards and marched off the ship to be told they were now out of a job see it differently.
Huge news: Jeremy Hunt says that low pay has been abolished!
This will come as a surprise to the 69% of children in poverty who live in working families.
Real wages are lower than in 2008. There are key workers using food banks. What planet does he live on?
What to do about the threat to Rafah? If I was in government I would be moving heaven & earth to mobilise support in governments in Europe, US, the Middle East & global south to isolate Netanyahu, demand a halt to the attack & make if clear he will be held criminally responsible.
The assault on Rafah is genocide in action. Political leaders in the UK must call this for what it is, it’s a war crime. International action is needed to halt the attack. We need an urgent vote in Parliament to end the UK’s complicity in this & to end the arms sales to Israel
We are witnessing a clear escalation of Israel's disregard for civilian life and international law.
The Minister said the Govt is doing everything it can but I don't agree.
We need an immediate ceasefire but also stringent sanctions on Israel.
Where is our humanity?
“Do you think that’s moral in any way?” Today I spoke to the boss of P&O Ferries who sacked hundreds of workers, rehired paying £4.87 an hour and who himself has taken home over half a million quid.

This bill would give DWP the power to snoop on the bank accounts of anyone on social security, including pensioners, regardless of any evidence of wrongdoing
DWP bank snooping powers would allow monitoring of accounts of landlords, carers and parents.
Govt will snoop without suspicion, court order or right to appeal. It will spend £370m to set-up the scheme.
Tell your family, friends, MP, union to oppose it.
🌹 Congratulations
@MetroMayorSteve
, this result shows we are delivering on our pledges
