Dune confirms that Denis Villneuve is one of the most ambitious, skilful and talented auteurs we have working today. TimothΓ©e Chalamet leads an all-star cast in this visually stunning, action-packed, intelligent but accessible blockbuster. This is cinema at its best. #Venezia78

RRR is a Movie with a Capital M - where the M stand for Maximalism. A total sensory overload of outrageous action scenes, lavish and dazzling musical numbers and swooning romances and bromances. It’s epic in every sense of the word. What a treat!

#ABeautifulDayInTheNeighborhood is the warm cinematic ray of light this world so desperately needs. Marielle Heller’s biopic about Mr Fred Rogers (Tom Hanks) lovingly looks at parental relationships, kindness, expressing emotions and forgiveness. The feelgood gem of 2019 #TIFF19

Noah Baumbach’s divorce-drama #MarriageStory is a triumph! 😁 It’s ugly and beautiful. Funny but devastating. Masterfully performed by Johansson and Driver. And so evidently personal to Baumbach. Add it to β€œMust Watch” on #Netflix Also: LAURA DERN!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» #Venezia76

Dead silence in the cinema as the credits rolled for the screening of Claire Denis’ Stars at Noon. First time I’ve heard zero applause this #Cannes . Maybe we’re all tired? Or perhaps nobody liked it? I know I’m not a fan. Was such a dull sluggish watch for a fugitive story.
