As our CEO
@IngaBeale
hands over the reins, we offer our heartfelt thanks for all she's done to champion Lloyd’s, the market and its people and for her passion for diversity & inclusion. Inga, you've been a fantastic ambassador. Good luck in your new adventures. We’ll miss you.
Every day, our world-famous Underwriting Room welcomes more than 4,000 people, issues more than 10,000 broker tickets, sees £100 million in premiums come into the market and £49.9 million paid out in claims - that’s more than £34,620 in claims per minute!
#LondonMakesItPossible
Thousands from across the market gathered on balconies and escalators to watch our annual remembrance service and pay their respects to the fallen in all conflicts.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the ceremony.

To mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, there was a "poppy drop" during the two minutes of silence of today's Remembrance Day ceremony, with 30,000 poppies dropped from high up within the Lloyd's building. Incredibly moving.

#LestWeForget
We are extremely saddened by the passing of Richard Rogers, architect of the Grade I listed Lloyd’s building in London.
Tomorrow, as a mark of our deep respect, we will remember Richard’s life and ring the Lutine Bell, an emblem of Lloyd’s he was known to love.
@RSHParchitects
This is Bob: he's responsible for entries in the Loss Book in London which details every shipping loss reported to us. They date back to 1775 & every book is archived at the
@GuildhallLibrary
. The biggest loss he's entered so far was the Costa Concordia in 2012.
#LloydsPeople
Our market remains open and we will continue to operate and support our customers globally. But, we've closed our Underwriting Room in London until further notice. To mark the closure, we rang the Lutine Bell once.
We'll ring it twice upon the Room's re-opening.
#LloydsPeople
Did you know that by using smart contracts we could be able to pay claims before a policyholder has even realised a loss has taken place?

could look like.
A huge well done to all involved with organising our Remembrance Day event on Friday, including our Corporate Real Estate team. One of them, Ibrahim, took this incredible footage of poppies dropping as he (along with others) leaned (safely!) over the gantry to let them go.
This is Marc, our new Diversity & Inclusion Manager and a fan of tuxedos and Dr Who. He will continue to drive our gender agenda and more, ensuring Lloyd’s has an inclusive culture and is THE place to bring your whole self to work, whoever you are.

After 36 years, today is Russell Barclay's last day at Lloyd's. His warm humour, kind smile and glowing personality will be sorely missed around our Lime Street home.
From everyone at Lloyd's, we wish you the very best in your retirement, Russ.

Rest in peace, HRH Queen Elizabeth II.
It’s with sadness and sorrow that we mourn the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
We will cherish the memories of her visits to Lloyd’s.
Lloyd’s sends our deepest sympathies to The Royal Household and those who loved her.
Did you celebrate

Hanging in our Underwriting Room in London, the bell has traditionally been struck on the arrival of news of an overdue ship - once for the ship’s loss (and so, for bad news), and twice for her return (good news). It has more recently been rung to mark special occasions.
