There are millions around the globe without access to safe drinking water. That is why I am starting
#WednesdaysForWater
. Every Wednesday I will share a place that needs clean water and how you can help.
Hey
@NICKIMINAJ
and
@theestallion
I have an idea! Let me introduce myself. I’m Mari and I’m a 16 year old from Flint, MI. I have been working half of my life to get clean water not just to Flint but to hundreds of other communities dealing with clean water crisis.
My name is Mari. Im 10 years old. In April I will have been living through the
#FlintWaterCrisis
for 4 years, I've been fighting for almost as long. I want to be President when I grow up. But until then I will fight for
#FlintKids
7 Years.
Flint, MI has been without clean water for 7 years.
The effects of the water crisis will be felt for generations.
And the worst part of it all...
Flint is not the only city with toxic water.
It is one of the hundreds of cities across the country with bad water.
It’s
#EarthDay
and we’re celebrating Mari Copeny, Global Water Warrior! 🌎 🌊 🌱
@littlemissflint
is a 13-year-old activist and philanthropist who spoke out about the Flint water crisis!
Please stop with the "they got a mural before they got clean water" tweets. The city didn't do this, the residents of Flint did, its what WE wanted and we came together to do it.
No single person who has actually been affected by the water crisis here will see a million dollars. But the lawyers get $200M when it’s all said and done.
And y’all wonder why I continue to say Flint is still in crisis.
10 years after the Flint water crisis, residents have not seen a penny from a $626.25 million legal settlement. The 6 law firms working on the case have received over $60 million in fees and will receive an additional $150 million.
Yes I cried on National tv. People tend to think I am always happy, but people sometimes are not nice. This year has been so hard to fundraise and even with the toy donation we still need to get closer to my goal. I have under a week to fundraise.
This is my water filter. My filter can bring clean safe water to communities dealing with a lead crisis (Like Flint, MI and Newark, NJ). It's powered by
@Hydroviv_h2o
.
Every $1 donated provides the equivalent of 160 bottles of water.
I'm Mari, a 13-year old from Flint, Michigan where we are 7 years without clean water.
I decided to tackle the water crisis nationally head-on by getting my own water filter to give to those in need of clean water immediately.
My goal is $500k.
First Wednesday of 2024 and its time to bring back
#WednesdaysForWater
.
Today im going to reintroduce myself.
I'm Mari, I'm 16 years old and from Flint, MI. For half of my life I have been fighting for clean water for my hometown (and now the entire country).
Yesterday we passed out 135,000 bottles of water to Flint residents in 93 degree heat. We helped close to 1,000 families. People lined up 2 hours early and caused a traffic jam most of the distribution.

#Flint
To most he was this huge personality but to me he was the only city official to ever support me, come out and volunteer at my events, and always encouraged me. He called me Medium Miss Flint as I grew up. He loved this city more than anyone. You will be missed Eric Mays 💔…
The Michigan attorney general’s office officially is ending its pursuit of criminal prosecutions over the Flint water crisis after seven years of no convictions
The Flint prosecution team says the cases are now “closed”
Hi, I'm Mari aka (not so) Little Miss Flint. I'm a 14 year old kid from Flint. I'm an activist and philanthropist that focuses on clean water and taking care of the kids in my hometown of Flint

I am shaking right now.
We are just $575 to hit my first goal of $100k.
When I first tweeted this Wednesday it was at $7k.
My last water fund took over 8 months to hit $100k.
This is my water filter. My filter can bring clean safe water to communities dealing with a lead crisis (Like Flint, MI and Newark, NJ). It's powered by

Hi, I'm Mari, I'm 13 and for the past five years I have been fighting to get clean water, not just in Flint, but in the hundreds of communities nationwide dealing with toxic water.
I have my own filter that I ship nationwide to help people.
Everyone meet Jurnee, she is a 7-year-old frost grade student from Ganiard Elementary in Mt. Pleasant, MI. She went to school and her teacher decided to cut her hair to the scalp. Our hair is our crown and that teacher stole Jurnee’s crown.
The teacher still has a job.
Someone please make this make sense.
I started my filter fund at 12 to get clean water to my hometown and am nowhere near $1M in 4 YEARS!!
This man murders a black man and y’all raise $900k+ in under a WEEK?!?
8 YEARS!!!!
Over half of my life fighting for clean water.
There are kids here that have lived their entire lives with toxic water.
And what's even worse, is Flint is not alone.

Ugandan climate activist Vanessa Nakate took to Twitter to call out the Associated Press for choosing a photo of Greta Thunberg at Davos for an article that cropped Nakate out and only included other white activists.
Hey world. Let’s set the record straight. My team has been working with

Are you upset about standing in long lines, prices on essentials being raised for profit, and stores running out of the items you need to survive?
Flint residents have been dealing with this feeling for almost 6 years when it comes to water.

Why is the Trump wall gofundme over $16 million dollars?
America first right?
So help me bring bottled water to my city who hasn't been able to safely drink from their taps for over four and a half years.
Flint is trending.
The water crisis is not over.
But Flint is not the only community with toxic water.
Its a nationwide epidemic.
And yet we have a billionaire presidential candidate upset about a poster on his window.

Fun fact, this picture is 4 years old today and my face in it shows how I feel about this entire year.
He said he would "fix Flint" in his first 100 days but only mentioned Flint for the first to attack Snyder last week.
Flint, Michigan has been without tap drinkable water for 1806 days.
and thats NOT an
#AprilFools
joke.
Help me continue to bring clean water to my city --->
In 4 days you have gotten me just $25k away from my goal of $500k. I may be able to hit my goal before Earth Day and the official 7-year mark of the Flint Water Crisis.

Today Elizabeth Warren, sometimes referred to by me as Pocahontas, joined the race for President. Will she run as our first Native American presidential candidate, or has she decided that after 32 years, this is not playing so well anymore? See you on the campaign TRAIL, Liz!
Hey
@Delta
, maybe check educate your flight attendants on how not to roll their eyes when they see a black person with a first class ticket. Cause the way this woman just rolled her eyes after trying to direct us to the back do the plane when clearly our seats weren’t there 😐
It's

America has a water crisis! I have spent half of my life screaming about the water in Flint and all around the US.
The last 5 years I've been trying to raise $1M on my filter project to bring immediate relief to those in need.
In 24 hours y’all not only met my goal, but doubled it. You just helped me make Christmas even more magical for the kids in my community who go without more often then not. Thank you so much. Only happy tears over here tonight.
This is your last chance to have
#DontForgetFlint
shirts before we hit the 4 year mark of the

I need to sell another 121 to hit my goal for this run. These wont be back until June and all proceeds go to help

$5 billion for water infrastructure upgrades and testing in schools seems like a much better way to spend that much money...but what do I know...I’m just a kid from Flint who was forced to learn all things water after the government poisoned us
I'm 19.
I'm of a generation that believed that we could elect a female president.
That believed that we could

.
That is tired of being let down.
That believes survivors.
I'm angry.
I'm mad.
More than anything tho -- I refuse to give up.
We refuse to give up.
My 14th birthday is in 18 days.
I just graduated middle school.
For my birthday I really want to hit $1M on my filter fund. That means I need to raise about $459k to hit that goal.
Can you help a little black girl from Flint hit her goal?
We are just $7,142 away from hitting my goal....that's it. Help me hit that goal and make sure that
#Flint
residents know the world still cares.
#FiveYearsForgottenInFlint
The 5 year mark of the
#FlintWaterCrisis
is coming up on April 24th. I really want to hit my goal on my gofundme for clean water by then. We are about $37k until we hit that goal. We have 21 days.
Hey Megan & Nicki fans, imma let yall finish y’all little tussle but there are currently millions in the US drinking contaminated water, and im on the quest to make sure they get access to clean water ASAP. Every $1 provides the equivalent of 140 bottles of water with zero…
Now, some may ask how can you help. I’ve been trying to raise a million dollars for my filters for almost 5 years. I’m only 16, I started this at 12. I have filters in homes from coast to coast giving people clean water.
Help me reach my goal.
You can…
Both of you have HUGE platforms. So I have a couple ideas.
Your new songs will be getting tons of streams. Can you please consider pledging to donate $0.01 for every stream you have on these songs for the next 24 to 48 hours?
…
It took 19 months for me to raise $500k for my filters. I just upped my goal to $1M, because every day the water crisis in America gets even worse. If they can raise millions in a few days for a wall, and millions for Kyle Rittenhouse then so can I.
Hey
@Walmart
, we have been ordering water from you guys for a while now. Can we get you to match us and donate some pallets of water for our water distribution in

Skye’s family asked me to share this with you. Look at our girl just 2 weeks since the shooting. She is a fighter. Please keep donating to her gofundme, her family needs the support.
On Valentine's time one of my Flint little's suffered a gun shot wound due to an unsecured gun while in the custody of her father. She is only 3 years old and is fighting for her life.
I’ve spent half of my childhood screaming that the water crisis in Flint isn’t over! Adults on the internet told me I’m lying.
Now weeks before the crisis hits ten years a federal judge finds the city in contempt for not getting the job done.
Please. I’m trying to get the country to see that the water crisis isn’t just a Flint thing, I’m in this for every single person in the US that has toxic water. Flint is just one city out of hundreds. I’ve been screaming America has a water crisis for almost 5 years.
During the Flint water crisis I gave out over 1M bottles of water. But I learned a few things from doing that.
1. Bottled water is great for immediate crisis response but long term use is not cost effective
2. 90%+ of the empty water bottles were going to landfills
