This is the violent, misogynistic, far-right individual some Muslim men and shuyookhs on social media are rushing to defend

Please, now is not the time to fawn over Theresa May. Have some shame.

Another one. In other words it's okay for war and devastation to happen in those Other countries, but not in Europe. This historical amnesia and racist framing is endemic in certain newsrooms

“We’re not talking here about Syrians fleeing the bombing of the Syrian regime backed by Putin, we’re talking about Europeans leaving in cars that look like ours to save their lives.” Just when you thought you’ve seen it all in this world. Beyond belief.

Gamal Abdel Nasser was a ruthless dictator, as is Khamenei. This story is contested, likely made up as propaganda, as dictators do. I would say pick up a book, but so-called anti-imperialist secularists love to be selective with facts and human rights

Always like going back to what Nasser said a long time ago about the idea of mandatory hijab.

Macron bringing up "Islamic separatism" in his speech tonight, as he has throughout his term, is exactly the sort of discriminatory rhetoric that will push French Muslims and minorities to either vote Le Pen or abstain in the second round. #Presidentielles #France

A statue representing the cart of Mohamed Bouazizi, the young fruit-seller whose self-immolation helped ignite the Arab Spring 11 years ago today. Rest in eternal power.

Life update; Yesterday on the train a boy was crying and writing notes, I thought he was going to kill himself so I took his notepad, wrote my name and number and asked him to call me if he was sad. Turns out he had hay fever and was writing revision notes. I moved to a 17yr old.
