If a non-scholarship school is pressuring you in August— before your senior year starts— to commit now or else lose a spot, you should question the WHY? The Common App opened Aug 1. Your college choice is not THEIR choice to “have you” it is your choice to find the right one.

New rant. Do not equate D1 and D3 athletics. D3 players are not handcuffed to scholarships that are eliminated if they do not play. Nothing about playing or not effects their ability to access their education. They have greater control and choice about whether they play. #d3FB

Great talk w/a recruit telling me about the pressure he received on his 1st visit to “commit” on the spot and not take other visits. Glad he will be visiting us next week. Professional “pressure artists” act in selfishness. See your top three schools at least. To “know you know!”

Not all “offers” are equal. Ask the questions about scholarship, requirements, and commit ability. If they won’t let you commit is it an offer? If a school doesn’t have roster size limits how “exclusive” is the club?

Piece of advice for PSA’s that I give in person... if you’re not interested in a school—tell the coach. If you want to be continue to berecruited by them-answer calls & texts... do what is asked (apply, register for visits, etc). Be either in(terested) or out. #YouAreInControl
